Blaze engulfs Menggatal factory and workers quarters

Published on: Tue, Apr 29, 2025 Text Size: A fire broke out at the Sinar Bayu factory and its workers' quarters in Menggatal, burning down the entire facility, including several vehicles. The fire was reported at 3.50 am, with firefighting teams arriving at the scene in approximately 10 minutes. According to the Fire Department, the fire completely destroyed the 100'x200' factory and workers' quarters. In addition to the building, a water tanker, forklift, Proton Satria car, and a 4x4 vehicle were also fully consumed by the flames. The firefighting team, consisting of 24 personnel from Lintas, Kota Kinabalu, and Tuaran fire stations managed to bring the situation under control by 5.08 am.
