'PM Modi has admitted defeat'

Senator Irfan Siddiqui of the PML-N said Monday that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent speech was a humiliating admission of defeat, with his agitated tone revealing the frustration of a sore loser. In a post on X, he said Modi's every word echoed the voice of his own defeat-a frantic outburst, like a cornered animal with nowhere left to turn. He said operation Sindhoor left 'Bharat Mata' cradling only ashes - when it could've instead exposed the rotting carcasses of Rafale jets and other war machines. After facing defeat at the hands of Pakistan's armed forces and global humiliation, their silence would have served them better than these desperate lamentations. Such profound disgrace cannot be washed away with empty rhetoric, Siddiqui said.

IPL 2025: PBKS vs DC in Dharamshala in doubt, BCCI awaiting government clearance

The Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamshala, scheduled to be held on May 8, is in doubt as the BCCI is awaiting clearance from the government for the game to go ahead. This development comes in the aftermath of operation Sindhoor, the precision strikes which were launched in response to last month's terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on May 7. On Wednesday, India struck nine terror camps linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. The government clarified that the targets were strictly non-military and said the strikes were "measured, focused, and non-escalatory." Flight operations at several airports in northwest India-including Dharamsala, Chandigarh, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar - have been suspended until further notice after operation Sindhoor. The disruptions follow India's military operation targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Tuesday. This has already made the travel plans for the Mumbai Indians difficult as they were supposed to arrive in Dharamshala on Thursday for the match on Sunday, May 11. This could mean that the fixture may be shifted out of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. The match between PBKS and DC was initially expected to go as planned, as the Delhi squad arrived in the city before the airport was shut. Now, the match is in doubt given that Dharamshala is close to the border. The BCCI will be monitoring the situation closely as the league stage of the IPL is coming to an end and travel restrictions could potentially affect team logistics and preparations. Despite this, a top BCCI official told India Today that the IPL will continue as scheduled for now, despite the evolving geopolitical situation. Stay updated on IPL 2025 with India Today!
