Texas A&M landed two of the top 2026, 2027 prospects in April

Texas A&M landed two of the top 2026, 2027 prospects in April Texas A&M's recruiting success has continued into the 2026 and 2027 cycles, as the 2025 Maroon & White spring game, which also served as another chance to host several high priority prospects in both classes, breeded its usual success. During the game, coach Mike Elko landed his first 2027 commit in four-star wide receiver George Lamons, who, on paper, will likely end up as a five-star recruit due to his size, speed and position versatility, similar to freshman tight end Kiotti Armstrong, who also played defensive end at a high level during his high school career. In the 2026 class, Elko and his staff flipped four-star cornerback Victor Singelton from Illinois, as the Ohio-based prospect chose the Aggies several blue-blood programs, including Ohio State, becoming the second Ohio recruit, along with four-star linebacker Storm Miller to commit to the Aggies. Singelton is currently the highest ranked prospect in A&M's 2026 class. This week, On3 recognized Texas A&M for flipping Singelton and four-star running back Jonathan Hatton from Oklahoma, and on Wednesday, the site revealed Lamons (4th) and Singelton (6th) in the top 10 ranked commitments in the month of April. This summer, Elko and his staff will host a long list of 2026 prosects, including five-star OL/DL Lamar Brown, four-star LB Tank King, five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington and four-star OL Zaden Krempin. This is just the start of what's to come, as the Aggies are still competing for the No. 1-ranked 2026 class when it's all said and done. Texas A&M pulled off two of the more impressive recruiting flips in the 2026 class

Texas A&M pulled off two of the more impressive recruiting flips in the 2026 class Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class pulled off two of the most recognized flips in the cycle at two of the more important position groups, as four-star running back Jonathan Hatton and four-star cornerback Victor Singelton chose the Aggies Oklahoma and Illinois, while winning recruiting battles with the Sooners is still very impressive despite the program's recent struggles. Hatton is one of the top backs in the 2026 cycle due to this powerful running style, while Singelton, who is now Texas A&M's highest rated recruit in the class, possesses elite coverage traits, especially in man coverage, and has a chance to see the field as soon as he steps on campus next summer. Overall, both players represent coach Mike Elko's recruiting prowess, which can be attirbuted to his impressive coaching staff. This summer, the Aggies will host 2025 five-star OL/DL Lamar Brown, five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington, and four-star lineacker Tank King in early June, and thanks to defensive line coaches Tony Jerod-Eddie and Sean Spencer, the Aggies are slowly becoming minor favorites for Brown, while Arrington and King's visits could sway things sooner than later. Due to the Aggies' poor 1-4 finish during Mike Elko's inagural season, he has not received the national praise for flipping Hatton and Singelton, until now. However, there's alot more work do be done, starting with locking down two, or all 2026 prospects mentioned, while some future flips could also be on the docket.
