Siouxland United FC Outlaws ready to start second season in NPSL
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Summer is nearly here and that means great weather for National Premier Soccer League play in Siouxland, and no one is more excited to get the season started than the Siouxland United FC Outlaws.
The Outlaws are entering their second season in the NPSL in the North Conference facing teams from Sioux Falls, Minnesota, and Iowa.
In its inaugural season the club split its games 6-6 with zero draws.
With several new additions to the team, including a new head coach, the Outlaws are ready to take the field once again.
'It's a pretty new team. It's a new start,' Siouxland United FC midfielder Yali Cohen said. 'Last year we went 6-6, it wasn't like our target and our goal for last season, but I think for this season we're going to go over expectations and we're going to do good things.'
'Last season I was with a different club in the conference, so I'm definitely very familiar with the club and the conference and those types of things,' Siouxland United FC head coach Alex Trent said. 'Playing-wise, as a group they competed, they gave everything, they were a challenge for us. I definitely have respect for the group last year, coaching staff, those types of things, but we're excited to move forward with the group that we have now.'
The Outlaws first game is scheduled for Saturday, May 10th, at 7 p.m. against Sioux Fall Thunder FC at USF Stadium – Bob Young Field.
