LA Kings and NHL Rally for Wildfire Relief With Skate for LA Strong, 'A Celebration To Support the Fire Recovery Efforts in Los Angeles'

With the Los Angeles area having suffered catastrophic damage from the recent wildfires, AEG's Los Angeles Kings teamed up with the National Hockey League (NHL) to host a special benefit hockey game, Skate For LA Strong, 'A Celebration to Support the Fire Recovery Efforts in Los Angeles.' The event aimed to raise proceeds for the LA Fire Relief Fund and provide support for those impacted by the fires. Held at Arena in Los Angeles, CA, Skate For LA Strong brought together celebrities, professional athletes, musicians, local first responders, and—most importantly—fire victims and their families. The exhibition game featured four teams competing in a single elimination format, with each team's roster including a mix of celebrities, former NHL greats, and first responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department, and Los Angeles Police Department. Headlining the player participants were stars like Justin Bieber and Steve Carell, alongside Hockey Hall of Fame members Rob Blake, Cammi Granato, Mark Messier, and Jeremy Roenick. Celebrity coaches, including Danny DeVito, Snoop Dogg, Will Ferrell, Al Michaels, Cobie Smulders, Hannah Stocking, Vince Vaughn, and Andrew Whitworth, added to the excitement. A complete list of participants and attendees can be found here. For many attendees, the night was a rare opportunity to take a break from the overwhelming reality of loss and recovery, instead immersing themselves in a lively and uplifting atmosphere. Skate For LA Strong highlighted the power of sports and entertainment in bringing communities together, offering comfort, and fostering resilience in times of hardship. The event also featured musical performances by producer and Kaskade, singer/songwriter Jordan Davis and singer Lauren Spencer Smith.

9 Justin Bieber hockey photos of the singer playing in the L.A. fire benefit game

Justin Bieber, as you may know, is a big hockey fan (remember, he was born in Canada, so he roots for the Toronto Maple Leafs), but the singer can also play on skates, as we once saw in an All-Star Celebrity Game. On Sunday night, he played in a benefit tournament after the Los Angeles wildfires. It was called Skate For LA Strong, and it starred some big name former hockey players and Bieber, who "fought" the legendary Jeremy Roenick to get the crowd going. That was too much fun. And here are some photos of Bieber in uniform on Sunday: This article originally appeared on For The Win: 9 Justin Bieber hockey photos of the singer playing in the L.A. fire benefit game

Justin Bieber can't wait to teach his little boy Jack Blues to ice skate

Justin Bieber wants to teach his son to ice skate "as soon as possible". The 30-year-old pop star is a massive ice hockey fan and participated in the Skate For LA Strong benefit game to raise money for the victims of the Los Angeles wildfires at the Arena on Sunday (23.02.25). There, he was asked by the Los Angeles Kings' media team when he plans to get his six-month-old boy Jack Blues - whom he has with wife Hailey Bieber - in some skates. To which, he replied: 'As soon as possible.' When asked: 'What is too early?', he replied: 'It's never too early.' Meanwhile, Justin has hit the headlines in recent weeks over his dishevelled appearance and unfollowing Hailey on Instagram - which he later claimed was a hacker. However, his spokesperson was adamant he's doing well and is busy parenting Jack, making new music and looking ahead to his 31st birthday on March 1. They told TMZ: "[The last year has been] very transformative for him as he ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him." Justin and Rhode Beauty founder Hailey, 28, married in 2018 and they welcomed their first child, son Jack, last year. The rep went on to slam false stories about the singer's health and well-being, adding: "[It's] exhausting and pitiful and shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive." It comes after Justin declared it's "time to grow up" in a cryptic post on his Instagram page in which he admitted he is "not good" at following rules but is determined to embrace a "life of love" as he follows his Christian faith. Justin wrote: "It's time to grow up. Changing is about letting go! Not trying harder! Are you tired of trying to follow all of the rules in hopes to get the results you crave? I've found love to be more powerful than rules.' He added: "I tried to follow the rules. I'm not good at it. But u don't need to follow rules to enter into a life of love. U just receive so enter love living! God always grants us love! It's one of his promises! Upon receiving God's love! U start to change and start following love."
