150 hams donated to local veterans for Easter
WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Veterans know the need among other veterans. They wanted to make sure anyone who served our country would have a special Easter meal.
The Military Order of Purple Hearts handed out hams in front of VFW Post 1090.
There were 150 hams that were available.
Veterans just needed to show a military ID or a driver's license with an Armed Forces emblem, which recognizes their military service.
'It's amazing. They serve their country, and this is just one way that we're able to give back to them at the holidays,' Veteran Herm Breuer said.
'It feels great helping our community out, teaming up with the Military Order of Purple Hearts, trying to give back to our community,' VFW Senior Vice Commander Skip O'Rourke said.
The 150 hams were donated by Denise and John York.
