Family and community take 'Pelletier Plunge' in Southington
SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — The annual 'Sloper Plunge' in Southing took on a new meaning in 2025, honoring the late State Trooper Aaron Pelletier.
'Pelletier's Plungers' braced the chilly temperatures to go in the water at YMCA Camp Sloper Saturday afternoon.

Nearly $12,000 were raised in honor of TFC Pelletier and members of his family say they've been encouraged by their community's support in the last year.
Aaron's brother, Michael Pelletier, told News 8,'They helped out my family a lot this year, with my nephews, so we decided to help right back, by giving back to the community. We put a team together in my brother's honor, and we jumped in.'
All the money raised at today's plunge will go to scholarships for local children to have the camp experience at Camp Sloper.
