Aldi upsets shoppers after 'the best' crisps flavour disappears from shelves

The popular crisps were only available to buy for a few weeks. When it comes to unique crisp flavours, Aldi usually has a range of tastes worth trying out. Often available for a limited time only, they don't spend long in stores. This seems to have been the case with the Snackrite Mighty Crisps, as the budget supermarket recently left many devoted fans distraught after confirming they were no longer available to buy. ‌ The Sun reports that these marmite-flavoured crisps first debuted on shelves back in January with a price-tag of just 89p for a pack of six. Despite the flavour often being divisive, these crisps were immediately a hit, with one branding them as "the best." ‌ After noticing the crisps' absence, one fan took to X, formerly Twitter, as Twitter, to ask the supermarket why they could not be found - and wasn't happy with the response. The post read: "@AldiUK What's happened to those new mighty crisps you brought in? They're so good and we're selling out so why have more not been brought in? Marmite flavour they are." In response, Aldi sadly confirmed they had been axed by writing: "They were part of our Seasonal range and will only be available at certain times of the year until sold out. Sorry for any disappointment caused." The shopper went on to criticise the decision to pull the Snackrite Mighty Crisps from shelves, especially after they thought they should be "sold all year round." The full response from the shopper read: "They were literally only in for a few weeks... No idea why they would be seasonal? Bit weird... ‌ "They're the best flavour you've brought in and should be available all year round... You do make some strange decisions sometimes.." Another distraught shopper also chimed in with their own response that read: "@AldiUK first you stop making Leo the lion jelly sweets and now no more of the delicious mighty crisps! Please bring them back #AldisBest!" ‌ Someone else who queried the absence of the crisps wrote: "@aldiuk where's the mighty marmite crisps gone!!!!" According to the responses given by Aldi, it seems that the Snackrite Might Crisps were part of its winter seasonal range that was included in its Specialbuys aisle where items are notorious for only being available for a limited time. Aldi's crisps offered marmite lovers a suitable alternative after Walkers decided to axe its own Marmite flavoured crisps in a move that would allow the firm to focus on making more flavours fans "love the most." ‌ The British food manufacturer's move also axed a whole host of other popular flavours that included Cheese Mixups, Lamb and Mint, Max Flamin Hot, Peking Spare Rib, Salt and Vinegar Quavers and Salt and Sizzling steak Wotsits. Meanwhile, Toblerone fans were also left gutted earlier this year after it was confirmed that the dark chocolate version of the Swiss treat would no longer be available to buy across the UK. Mondelez, the owner of Toblerone, advised it had made the "difficult decision" to stop selling its 360g bars after it had been available on store shelves for almost an impressive six decades due to "changing tastes."
