People on PIP, ADP and other disability benefits can access exclusive online discounts

Disabled people can now access a new exclusive deal with Snappy Shopper for purchases from Spar, Nisa, Premier and Booker. The UK's fastest-growing convenience store delivery platform, Snappy Shopper, has announced an exclusive partnership with disability discount platform Purpl to launch a new initiative aimed at easing the cost of living for millions of disabled people. Through the collaboration, eligible Purpl members will receive a 25 per cent discount on their first online grocery order via Snappy Shopper, available through the app and website. The offer includes same-day delivery (within 30 - 60 minutes) or click and collect at selected local retailers, including Spar, Nisa, Premier and Booker. ‌ All Purpl users will also benefit from three months of free delivery during the trial period. The new initiative supports the 16.1 million people (24%) living with a disability across the UK, offering exclusive savings on everyday essentials. ‌ According to disability equality charity Scope, disabled households require an additional £1,010 per month to maintain the same standard of living as non-disabled households. The partnership will launch as a trial to evaluate its impact and reach, with the shared aim of building a more inclusive shopping experience for disabled communities. Mike Callachan, CEO of Snappy Shopper, said: 'We're delighted to partner with Purpl to make Snappy Shopper more accessible to customers living with a disability. We hope this initiative will offer practical support and genuine savings at a time when they're most needed.' Founded in July 2024 by Georgina Colman, who lives with multiple sclerosis and ADHD, Purpl was created to help tackle the extra costs often associated with disability. The platform also provides advice and guidance for those living with a disability. Ms Colman said: "I am really excited about our partnership with Snappy Shopper. I know first-hand how difficult it can be to get out and about when you have a disability, and it's made worse when you have no one else to pop out to the shop for you. Being able to use Snappy Shopper and get a delivery within an hour will make such a difference to the disabled community." ‌ People on disability benefits including Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Adult Disability Payment (ADP), Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and more, can join the unique, free scheme which gives them exclusive discounts off top brands online. These include Boots, Currys, Debenhams, Ninja UK, Sky, Poundland and Virgin Media. There's too many to list here, but the website has a handy A to Z and a full category guide, which you can view here. The Purpl website is easy to navigate and fully accessible, with easy to follow instructions on how to join - basically take a picture of your disability document. ‌ These include: Blue Badge (photo side) Disabled bus pass Disabled rail card Access card CEA card PIP, ADP, DLA or Child Disability Payment award letter Attendance Allowance letter War pension (disability component) letter Access to work / ESA letter Verifications are typically completed within seconds, after which a unique discount code becomes active for use on Snappy Shopper. ‌ A full guide on how to join can be found here. For anyone worried about sending key information to Purpl, the website explains: 'When you upload the photo of your document, you want to know that it's safe and that we protect your privacy. ‌ 'All of our systems and storage are protected and encrypted to the high standard you would expect them to be. When you upload your document photo, we only keep it long enough to read it and collect the information we need from it to verify your account. Once we have this, the document photo is permanently deleted.' Full details on all discounts and how to join can be found on the Purpl Disabled Discounts website here.
