NEET-UG held in 22 Ranchi centres amid tight vigil

Ranchi: The (NTA) conducted the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 on Sunday across 22 designated centres in the district. The examination was held from 2 pm to 5 pm under strict security arrangements, with prohibitory orders in place to ensure a smooth and transparent process. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now To prevent disturbances near exam venues, the district administration had imposed Section 163 of the Indian Justice Code from 11 am to 8 pm. The orders prohibite gatherings of five or more persons, the use of loudspeakers, public meetings, and the possession of any weapons including firearms and sharp objects within a 200-meter radius of the exam centres. The authorities deployed a sufficient number of magistrates, senior police officials, and security personnel to maintain order throughout the examination period. Students were allowed entry only after undergoing mandatory frisking and metal detector checks. Prohibited items included mobile phones, calculators, wallets, books, stationery items, sunglasses, and even water bottles. Strict compliance with these rules was ensured at every centre. "It was a strict but fair environment. I was a little nervous at first seeing all the security, but once inside, everything was well-managed. The invigilators guided us properly, and I was able to focus on my paper without any distraction," said Sneha Kumari. Another candidate Ritwik Anand, said, "There were clear instructions about what not to bring. I appreciate the way the authorities handled everything. It made me feel that our efforts are being protected from any unfair practices." The admit cards contained complete details regarding the examination centres. Students were also instructed to ensure that the number of pages in their question booklet matched the count printed on the cover page.
