‘Jersey Shore' star Snooki learns why her birth mother put her up for adoption

During the June 5 episode of 'Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,' Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi opened up about her adoption in a way she never has before. The mom of three shared with fans of the show that for most of her 37 years, she has thought about this very question — why did her birth mother decide to put her up for adoption? According to Snooki, who was born in Chile, growing up, she never had much interest in finding her birth parents, the Asbury Park Press reported. After all, she had an incredible life with the parents who adopted her. Nonetheless, through a genealogist, Snooki learned who her birth mother was and eventually was able to have her first-ever conversation with her, seeing the woman's face for the first time. In a video, she told Snooki, 'I never forgot about you, and I love you,' which caused Snooki to immediately burst into tears. In a confessional, Snooki said hearing her birth mom 'say, I love you, oh my God. She just looks so sad. I feel like she's been waiting for this moment to reach out to me. I never realized that I actually cared about hearing my birth mom's voice.' With the birth mom agreeing to answer any question Snooki had, the reality star asked, 'Why was I put up for adoption?' As her friend and co-star, Jenni 'JWoww' Farley, sat next to her, Snooki said it can't get 'any more emotional.' 'For 36 years, I've been thinking about this question, and now the answer is going to pop up any second,' Snooki added in the confessional. 'This is insane.' In response to Snooki's question, the birth mom explained that 'when she realized she was pregnant, she told her partner, your father, and he just disappeared, leaving her by herself.' As Snooki gasped, she said, 'That is terrible.' 'She didn't have any support at that moment, so that was the only option that she had,' the translator continued telling Snooki. 'It was painful, she had to let you go.' When her birth mother later asked if Snooki was 'angry with her,' Snooki agreed to FaceTime with her. As a nervous Snooki gathered the strength to speak to her birth mom, the woman told Snooki that she 'never forgot about' her and became emotional. Snooki told her not to cry, promising her birth mother that she has an incredible life after being 'adopted by loving parents,' who 'spoiled' her while 'growing up in New York.' 'Obviously, I wouldn't even be here if she didn't put me up for adoption. I have amazing parents. I had a great childhood,' Snooki said. 'And then meeting my roommates. And meeting Jionni,' her husband. 'And then having my kids,' 11-year-old Lorenzo, 10-year-old Giovanna, and 5-year-old Angelo. 'I have the best fricken' life.' In the end, her birth mother expressed how happy she is knowing that Snooki is OK and has a family. 'She's really happy she talked to you, and she loves you,' the translator shared. While reflecting on the conversation, Snooki said she 'had no idea starting this journey that this is where I was going to end up. I'm so happy that I did this, but she's still a stranger to me.' When JWoww asked if Snooki would ever consider meeting her birth mother in person, Snooki said that she's 'just so content with my life and who my parents are, I don't know where to go from here. My emotions are everywhere.'

Snooki and her birth mother share emotional reunion on 'Jersey Shore'

Snooki and her birth mother share emotional reunion on 'Jersey Shore' Show Caption Hide Caption 'RHONJ' stars at MTV VMAs: We don't know what's next for the show At the MTV VMAs, Dolores Catania and Jennifer Fessler tell USA TODAY's Ralphie Aversa about the future of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey." In a new episode of "Jersey Shore Family Vacation," Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi messaged and spoke to her birth mom for the first time ever. "I never forgot about you and I love you," Polizzi's birth mom said through a translator, in the episode that aired Thursday, June 5. In response, the longtime reality TV star, 36, drew her hand to her mouth and started to cry. Jenni "JWoww" Farley then leaned in to hug her. "She just looks so sad, and I feel like she's been waiting for this moment to reach out to me," Polizzi said. "I never realized I actually cared about hearing my birth mom's voice." Polizzi has been consulting with Jersey-based genealogist Pamela Slaton, who previously helped cast member Angelina Pivarnick find her biological dad on the show. Born in Chile and adopted and raised by Helen and Andrew Polizzi of Marlboro, New York, Snooki said the moment provided her a clarity she didn't know she was searching for. Images of her birth mom, brother and sister, were digitally obscured on the show, and her name was not been revealed. Polizzi and her mother spoke through the aid of a translator who was in the room. When Polizzi asked why she was put up for adoption, her mother responded, through the translator: Polizzi's "father disappeared, leaving her by herself. It was the only option that she had, and even if it was painful, she had to let you go." Then, ditching the translator momentarily, Polizzi's birth mother said, "Hola, hola," and the reality star, clearly startled, said: "I think I'm having a panic attack!" "It was a really hard time, it was really hard to disappear from you," her mom said through the translator. "I suffered a lot — I never forgot about you." "Obviously, I'm not mad at her for putting me up for adoption," Polizzi said. "I have amazing parents. I had a great childhood. I'm just so content with my life and who my parents are. I don't know where to go from here. My emotions are everywhere."

EXCLUSIVE Snooki reflects on her 'unplanned' pregnancy while filming Jersey Shore

It's been 15 years since Jersey Shore was released on MTV - and a lot has certainly changed since then. Jersey Shore stars Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi, Jenni 'Jwoww' Farley, Angelina Pivarnick, Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino, and Vincent 'Vinny' Guadagnino took a walk down memory lane as they sat down with to reflect on their time in the show. During their chat, Polizzi laid bare the difficulties of participating in the final season of the show while she was pregnant. The reality star was expecting her first child with her then-fiancé, Jionni LaValle, when the season six was filmed in 2011. Her son Lorenzo Dominic LaValle was born in August 2012. While speaking exclusively with Polizzi admitted that it was not easy for her to star in the MTV series while she was gearing up to become a mother... especially because it was 'unplanned.' 'I came into season six pregnant,' Polizzi recalled. 'It was not planned, like... I wasn't ready for it. 'Obviously I was excited to be a mom and everything [but] that changed my entire perspective on life.' The cast also reflected on their legendary contributions to the world of reality TV as well as all the growth they've had since they first stepped foot into the Shore House all those years ago. Farley said that the show ending when it did couldn't have been more perfectly timed. 'It was like a full-circle moment where [I thought], "Where do we go from here? Everyone's growing up,"' she said. 'We didn't have the family dynamic that we do now then, so I felt like that was the perfect time to end because everyone was kind of like... branching off.' After the show ended, Polizzi and Farley went off to do a spin-off together called Snooki & Jwoww, featuring their day-to-day endeavors living together in New Jersey. Then soon after, the Jersey Shore cast reunited to begin shooting Jersey Shore Family Vacation - a show that's now in it's eighth season. Farley contributes the cast's ability to come back and spend so much time together to the fact that they cultivate their relationships independently outside of what goes on on-screen. 'I think it's everything outside of the show that makes us close,' she said. 'Here filming - that's fine. But it's really our day-to-day lives that keeps the closeness and the realness. 'So when we film, we'll fight for each other not with each other.' That's one of the things that keeps fans coming back to the Jersey Shore family. Sorrentino told that coming back to Family Vacation felt like a big moment of growth for him. 'That's when I was forced to embody a new version of myself and sort of like write my own comeback,' he shared. 'My whole comeback has been documented on the Jersey Shore Family Vacation series... it's very sentimental to me.' He's of course referring to his journey to sobriety, which began in 2015 after he admitted himself into rehab. But aside from trading in alcohol for Red Bulls, Diet Coke, and chicken 'tendies,' he maintains that he's still pretty 'Jersey Shore.' 'Not much has changed, I'm still Mike The Situation... now I'm just 10 years clean and sober and a very proud father,' he said. The TV personalities also revealed whether or not one of their famous catchphrases still applies to their life now, over a decade on. During their time in the show, the cast members often used the acronyms GTL - which stands for Gym, Tan, Laundry - to describe their daily routine. It was a recurring joke on the show that the stars' days would only consist of working out, tanning, and doing laundry, so the GTL lifestyle was created. Now, Polizzi told that she doesn't live that way anymore. Instead, she said she likes to subscribe to a GKM lifestyle: 'Gym, Kids, and Martinis.' As for Farley, she joked that two aspects of GTL are still a huge part of her life - going to the gym and tanning - but added that she would replace the L with a K to represent her kids. Pivarnick, who has had several fallouts with the cast over the course of the show, told that her version of GTL is now 'God,' 'Time for myself,' and 'Lessons.' Guadagnino revealed that rather than going to the gym he prefers running, but he said tanning is still a consistent activity in his life. 'I don't really have a lot of clothes so, I don't have to do laundry,' he added.
