$207-million Powerball ticket sold in Arleta as Southern California streak continues

Southern California's latest lottery winner hit the jackpot in Arleta, where a Powerball ticket worth $207 million was sold at a 7-Eleven on Woodman Avenue. The lottery luck keeps coming for Southern California, which now boasts two of the four Powerball jackpot winners this year. The previous one was revealed in March, when a ticket worth $515 million was sold in Anaheim. The latest lucky numbers were announced Saturday, and the winning ticket matched all six: 1, 29, 37, 56, 68 and the Powerball number 13. The winner, who has not yet been revealed, can receive the full $207 million split across 30 payments over 29 years or take a lump sum payment of $92.5 million — before taxes, of course. The 7-Eleven gets a $1-million payout as well. In California, retailers that sell winning Powerball tickets get half a percent of the total payout, capped at $1 million. Since the jackpot was more than $200 million, the store got the full bonus. On Sunday, one of the store managers told KTLA it was the most exciting thing that happened in all the years he had worked there. It was, he said, 'quite unbelievable.' The SoCal winning streak dates back to 2022, when Edwin Castro set a Powerball record with a $2.04-billion jackpot. In 2023, a market near Skid Row sold a ticket worth $1.08 billion. A few months later, a store in Frazier Park sold a ticket worth $1.73 billion.

Here are all of the heat records set in Southern California on Saturday

Saturday was a hot one in Southern California, and we have the numbers to prove it. The so-called 'mini heat wave' lived up to the hype and then some, as heat records were set or tied in more than a dozen cities throughout the region, according to the National Weather Service. Triple digits were reached in many of them, which is highly unusual for this time of year. Here are the records that were set on Saturday for May 10: AREAS TEMPERATURE IN DEGREES PREV. RECORD (YEAR) Anaheim 98 92 (1993) Burbank 101 95 (1981) Camarillo 86 85 (1934) Downtown Los Angeles 99 95 (1934) Long Beach 95 90 (1960) LAX 80 79 (1976) Paso Robles 99 97 (1997) Woodland Hills 103 99 (1988) San Diego 85 85 (1943) Vista 91 89 (1984) Chula Vista 88 83 (1988) Riverside 104 103 (1940) Escondido 99 99 (1934) Ramona 101 91 (1981) Alpine 101 94 (1960) Campo 98 94 (1960) Thermal 108 107 (1960) Borrego 105 105 (2009) The 'mini heat wave' will subside in time for the work week, when temperatures will dip across much of SoCal. ‘Mini heat wave' to blanket Southern California this weekend

The National Weather Service is advising SoCal residents that a 'mini heat wave' will set in this weekend. Much of the heat will be felt in inland communities, NWS said in their area forecast discussion on Saturday morning. 'High pressure aloft will keep the weekend [heat] away from the coast,' the area forecast discussion reads. 'Max temperatures will be similar to Friday's very warm readings…more records could fall [on Saturday].' Pope Leo XIV lays out his vision of the papacy and identifies AI as a main challenge for humanity Weather officials noted that the 'mini heat wave,' which peaks Saturday, will bring highs of 88 to 98 degrees to the region, which is 10 to 20 degrees above normal. Sunday will still be hot; temperatures as high as 90 degrees are forecast for some areas. Officials also advised local residents that the 'mini heat wave' poses a high risk for heat illness, especially for sensitive populations. A Heat Advisory is in effect for many communities in Ventura, Los Angeles and Riverside counties, as well as the southwestern portion of San Bernardino County, until 9 p.m. Saturday. The advisory states that daytime temperatures could reach 'around 103 degrees' and that overnight low temperatures will offer 'little relief' from the heat. Labaton Keller Sucharow LLP Announces the Reopening of the Lead Plaintiff Appointment Process in a Class Action Against Rock Holdings, Inc.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Labaton Keller Sucharow LLP ('Labaton') announces the reopening of the lead plaintiff appointment process in a class action lawsuit against Rock Holdings, Inc. ('RHI'). The action, which is captioned Construction Laborers Pension Trust for Southern California v. Rocket Companies, Inc., No. 21-cv-11528-TLL-APP (E.D. Mich.) asserts claims under Section 10(b) and Section 20A of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, on behalf of all persons who purchased Rocket Companies, Inc. ('Rocket') Class A common stock on March 29, 2021 through April 1, 2021, inclusive. The action alleges that while in possession of material, non-public, adverse information, Defendant RHI on March 29, 2021, sold 20,200,000 shares of Rocket Class A common stock at $24.75 a unit, for total proceeds of $499.95 million. Plaintiff Construction Laborers Pension Trust for Southern California ('SoCal') and members of the Class purchased Rocket stock contemporaneously with Defendant RHI's sale of stock without access to this material, non-public, adverse information. On April 17, 2025, the Court issued an Opinion and Order in which it granted Plaintiff SoCal's motion for leave to file a renewed motion for class certification. In addition, the Court ordered that, to the extent Plaintiff SoCal wished to seek renewed class certification on narrowed insider trading claims, it was directed to publish this notice. If you purchased or acquired Rocket Class A common stock on March 29, 2021 through April 1, 2021 and were damaged thereby, you may be a member of the 'Class' and may be able to seek appointment as Lead Plaintiff. Lead Plaintiff motion papers must be filed no later than July 8, 2025. The Lead Plaintiff is a court-appointed representative for absent members of the Class. You do not need to seek appointment as Lead Plaintiff to share in any Class recovery in this action. If you are a Class member and there is a recovery for the Class, you can share in that recovery as an absent Class member. You may retain counsel of your choice to represent you in this action including in making a motion for appointment as Lead Plaintiff. If you would like to consider serving as Lead Plaintiff or have any questions about this lawsuit, you may contact Connor C. Boehme, Esq. of Labaton at (212) 907-0780, or via email at cboehme@ Plaintiff SoCal is represented by Labaton, which represents many of the largest pension funds in the United States and internationally with combined assets under management of more than $4.5 trillion.
