Check out which East Texas libraries won statewide excellence award
LONGVIEW, Texas (KETK) – A number of East Texas libraries won a prestigious award this year for their excellent service.
To receive the award, applicants must exhibit excellence in ten different categories that are set by the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association, an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League. The Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award is given annually to libraries that demonstrate excellence and outstanding contributions to the public library services.
East Texas libraries that won the 2024 award include:
Judy B. McDonald Public Library in Nacogdoches
Longview Public Library
Maud Public Library
Quitman Public Library
Tyler Public Library
This year marks Longview Public Library's second time being recognized. The Longview library hosted several public events this year, including the Solar Eclipse Party and the Chautauqua Festival.
