Over the next few weeks scaffolding will be taken down and the task of cleaning will commence. "We are very grateful to all involved in this project and for everyone's patience - particularly the parishioners of the Cathedral Parish,' said Bishop Doran. The Cathedral closed in January to allow repairs be carried out on its roof and to renew the pointing of the stonework. The interior will now be cleaned and re-painted. The Cathedral was opened in 1874.
