Train From Nizamuddin To Gzb Derails In Delhi, No One Injured
New Delhi: A passenger train that was running from Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station to Ghaziabad derailed near the Shivaji Bridge station in New Delhi on Thursday afternoon.
Officials said that there were no injuries.
The railway officials confirmed that a coach did go off the tracks.
The circumstances that led to the accident seem to be unclear as of now, and the cause behind the derailment is yet to be determined.
An investigation has started, officials said.
Police said the incident occurred around 4.10pm.
According to officials, no injuries were reported among the passengers or the train staff members, and there was no damage to the surrounding infrastructure or any railway property.
"Passengers were inside the train when the incident took place, and they left when we reached the spot," a railway official said. Immediately after the derailment, police, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and railway officials reached the site. "The teams began working to re-rail the coach and restore normal operations," a police source said.
The movement of other trains on adjacent lines remained unaffected.

Railway officials are investigating the incident from multiple angles, including whether it was caused by a track issue, mechanical fault, or a signalling error.
The derailment led to the diversion of some trains. "Train No. 12952 New Delhi-Mumbai Central Tejas Rajdhani Express will be diverted via New Delhi-Patel Nagar-Delhi Safdarjung-Okhla due to the derailment of a local train in New Delhi of NR," Western Railway said on X.
A senior Northern Railway official said the derailed coach was the fourth from the engine. An inquiry committee has been constituted to investigate the cause of the derailment. While some train services have been regulated as a precautionary measure, there have been no significant delays reported so far, the official said.
Last year, ten wagons of a goods train derailed near Zakhira flyover in north Delhi, killing a 70-year-old ragpicker who was standing near the tracks. The train was carrying large rolls of iron sheets and was going to Chandigarh from Mumbai.
In 2022, a freight train carrying fuel got derailed between Tilak Bridge and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station.
