Cher has had an astounding six-decade career as a singer and actor and academy award winner
SOUTH BEND — American Theatre Guild presents 'The Cher Show' from Feb. 21 to 23 at the Morris Performing Arts Center, 211 N. Michigan St.
With three actors in the title role and 35 songs, 'The Cher Show' tells the story of the singer and actor over the course of a six-decade career that saw her win Grammy, Oscar and Emmy awards.
As a member of the duo Sonny & Cher with her first husband, Sonny Bono, she recorded such hits as 'I Got You Babe' and 'The Beat Goes On.'
Some of her solo hits include 'Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves,' 'Dark Lady,' 'Believe,' 'Song for the Lonely' and 'Woman's World.'
Cher also acted on Broadways in 'Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean' and starred in such films as 'Mask,' 'The Witches of Eastwick,' 'Mermaids,' 'Silkwood' and 'Moonstruck,' for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21 and 22 and at 2 p.m. Feb. 22 and 23.
