'Is that Jungkook?': Fan spot BTS member's Boy With Luv-era lookalike in K-Pop Demon Hunters

The new animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters dropped its trailer a while back, and it's serving some seriously next-level mayhem (in the best way). Meet Rumi, Mira, and Zoey — fierce K-pop stars by day, demon-slaying heroes by night. This girl group doesn't just sell out stadiums; they also hunt demons like it's no big deal. Performing and protecting their fans, they keep supernatural chaos far away. But here's the juicy twist that BTS ARMYs can't stop talking about: eagle-eyed fans spotted a boy band in the trailer that screams Jungkook energy. Is That BTS' Jungkook? In the K-Pop Demon Hunters trailer, there's a glimpse of a boy band performing live on a street in front of an audience, and one member stands out, rocking a white loose tee, denim, and a pink belt, totally giving off Jungkook's Boy With Luv era vibes. The hairstyle, the energy, and even the dance moves (though not exactly BTS's choreography) have ARMY buzzing, wondering, 'Is this Jungkook's animated twin?' The production hasn't confirmed anything official yet, so the mystery remains. But ARMYs? Hyped. It's like K-pop's unstoppable magic is weaving into animation, and K-Pop Demon Hunters is leading the charge. What's K-Pop Demon Hunters About? This summer's must-watch animation from Sony Pictures Animation. When they're not lighting up arenas, they're protecting fans from a sneaky demon boy band trying to steal the spotlight — and maybe a little more. Adding spice, Ahn Hyo Seop voices a rival demon boy band member, ramping up the supernatural showdown. The story follows three K-pop idols who find themselves pulled into a parallel world where they take on a whole new mission — battling demons threatening humanity. As the fight intensifies, they're joined by a mysterious member of a rival boy band, voiced by Ahn Hyo-seop. Together, they must face off against a powerful villain who steals souls. The big question is: can they save the world before it's too late? Whether that animated boy is Jungkook's spirit animal or just a wild coincidence, K-Pop Demon Hunters is making waves and proving K-pop's cultural takeover isn't slowing down anytime soon. Monsters beware — the K-pop Demon Hunters are here to stay, and they're ready to slay all day.

K-Pop Demon Hunters will Scratch Your Spider-Verse Itch in the Meantime

It's going to be a while before we get Beyond the Spider-Verse , but there looks to be something in the way that very much keeps to the aesthetic and action-direction of that franchise—and there's something in it for K-Pop fans as well. Check out the first trailer for K-Pop Demon Hunters : Here's the official description: When K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey aren't selling out stadiums, they're using their secret identities as demon hunters to protect their fans from ever-present supernatural danger. Together, they must face their biggest threat — an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise. The movie comes from Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation, and will also feature an original song performed by Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung of the group TWICE. While there are a lot of animated properties that try to be very serious when it comes to their story, it does seem like KPDH is embracing the silliness of their premise. Besides the promise of supernatural action, we also have a lot of comedy bits from the two groups—which kinds of harkens to the supplementary K-Pop material where the idols have to do cute-sy game shows and interviews. So far the movie does look amazing, and maybe this can get some more people into the K-Pop genre if they weren't a fan of it before. Catch K-Pop Demon Hunters when it comes to Netflix on June 20.

Netflix's ‘KPop Demon Hunters' Releases Their Trailer And Poster

KPOP Demon Hunters Netflix Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters have released their trailer, and it's safe to say, it's poppin'! Imagine if your favorite K-pop stars moonlit as demon hunters. While they're killing it on the stage, they're actually killing demons between comebacks and touring. The three idols – Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo) – from the group, Huntrix, use their secret identities as idols to protect their fans and the world from supernatural threats. The demons seem to have their own plans by utilizing that K-pop power and creating their demonic boy band, The Saja Boys– stealing hearts and souls. The musical animated film, directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, sets the scene in Seoul, with Korean people at the center. In the trailer, several Korean ajummas (elderly ladies), fan girls and boys are seen in the crowd. Kang told EW, 'It was really my desire to see Korean people on film in animation. So it actually started off as just a demon hunter project where I wanted to showcase Korean demons. Because demon hunting is usually a side job that's done in secret, it was like, what is their day job?' K-Pop Demon Hunters Official Poster Netflix Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, the same people who brought the Spider-verse films, the animations shown throughout the trailer are wild. From the graphic fight scenes to the goofy faces to the hilarious reactions to a sexy boyband, KPop Demon Hunters may be exactly what K-pop fans and animation fans are looking for. Not to mention, TWICE's Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung are part of the film's soundtrack, with their version of 'Takedown.' The trio told EW described the song as 'a high-energy track with a powerful beat,' that's 'filled with fierce determination and the will to tear down anything fake.' How much more K-pop can this movie get? Oh, but there's more! Teddy Park – the brains behind BLACKPINK's music – helped develop the music for the film. He worked with 24, Danny Chung, IDO, Vince, KUSH, and DOMINSUK. K-pop songwriters and producers were also involved in the process, including EJAE, Jenna Andrews, Stephen Kirk, Lindgren, Mark Sonnenblick, Daniel Rojas, and Ian Eisendrath If you're looking for some drama, Korean actors Ahn Hyo-seop and Byung Hun Lee are also part of the film! KPop Demon Hunters will premiere on Netflix on June 20. Check out the trailer below.
