American Music Awards' WORST dressed celebrities ever... from sweatshirts to umbrella hats

As the 2025 American Music Awards approach, anticipation builds not only for the musical performances but also for the fashion statements. Over the years, the AMAs red carpet has been a stage for dramatic ensembles and risqué outfits that sometimes didn't quite pay off, leaving us with unforgettable fashion faux pas. The AMAs have seen its fair share of sartorial nightmares, so ahead of this year's event, which is set to take place on Monday, May 26, has rounded up the worst-dressed celebrities over the years. In 2024, the awards were extra special as it marked the AMA's 50th anniversary. Despite the important celebration, some celebrities still managed to miss the fashion mark. Singer Raye, 27, who performed at the event, wore an unusually casual outfit for a red carpet - choosing a baggy dark brown sweatshirt and a mint green button-up mini skirt. Raye completed the dressed-down look with black mules, red lipstick, glasses, and statement earrings. Meanwhile, 28-year-old Sophia Culpo - who is the sister of model Olivia Culpo - chose an outdated sequin blazer dress that didn't quite work. The real estate agent wore a short blue dress with a dramatic plunging neckline that left very little to imagination. In 2022, there were a few stand out looks - including mega pop star Taylor Swift - however, some celebs fell short. Kim Petras, 32, wore an all-denim outfit that wasn't flattering on the singer. The studded jean look flared out with a mermaid train, and Kim paired it with a chunky jean belt, a tiny denim purse, and a massive cross necklace. Singer Pink, 45, also had a fashion fail as she took the red carpet in a colorful, sparkly fridge look. The front of the dress - which was gold and black - had a high neck and slit up her thigh. It also had a thunderbolt-style zig-zag down the front of her body. Billy Porter, 55, flashed a nipple and wore an umbrella hat as he donned a bright blue Tiffany suit with black platform boots in 2021 That same year, MGK made an interesting fashion choice on the AMA carpet. The singer, 35, wore a purple suit complete with metal needles poking out all over the surface. In 2021, 28-year-old singer Becky G donned a semi-80s frilled purple mini dress with black trimming and shoulder pads. The garment featured strips of fabric fastened with dated clips, which showed segments of skin, including cleavage and her midriff. Notably, Billy Porter, 55, flashed a nipple and wore an umbrella hat as he donned a bright blue Tiffany suit with black platform boots the same year. In 2017, make-up guru Patrick Simondac, 35, who is known as Patrick Starr, stood out from the crowd for all the wrong reasons in his fringed green jumpsuit. Singer Bebe Rexha, 35, also left very little to the imagination in her nearly-naked dress, which clung to her body, and looked incredibly risqué. Bella Thorne made the worst-dressed list in 2016 with her rock star look. Bella Thorne made the worst-dressed list in 2016 with her rock star look. The 2025 American Music Awards will be held at Fontainebleau Las Vegas in Las Vegas. Only time will tell which stars deliver with their looks, and which totally miss the mark this time around.

Sophia Culpo's post on ‘beating Asian genes' sparks serious backlash: ‘Zero intelligence'

Sophia Culpo, the younger sister of former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, is facing online backlash after posting a TikTok video in early May 2025 that many are calling racist. In the since-deleted clip, Sophia can be seen holding her newborn niece and making comments that have drawn sharp criticism across social media. The caption of the video read: "When the Culpo genes beat out the Asian genes." Sophia followed that with, "Say hi to my baby niece Lila!! She looks EXACTLY like my brother, even though she's Filipino." The baby is the second child of Sophia's older brother, Pete Culpo, and his wife, Katie Trainor, who is Filipino. Although the post was removed shortly after it went live, screenshots quickly circulated online. Many TikTok users used the green-screen feature to share their reactions, calling attention to what they viewed as an offensive and tone-deaf statement. Sophia Culpo is a model, influencer, and reality TV star, known partly for her presence on social media and as one of the Culpo siblings. The family has a significant following, especially after Olivia Culpo's rise to fame following her Miss Universe win and reality TV appearances. She began modeling during her college years, sharing her work on social media. She has also appeared in Only Murders in the Building: One Killer Question and participated in the 49th Annual People's Choice Awards in 2024. Many TikTok users and commenters called Sophia's caption 'insane,' 'racist,' and 'deeply out of touch.' Reactions were similar on Reddit, where her now-deleted post was widely panned. 'Zero intelligence, zero self-awareness. There's something very off with Sophia… I'm not sure how you could be so dumb/disconnected from reality to say something like that in 2025. The girl is just braindead, honestly,' wrote one person. 'I would have become fully unhinged if I saw my sister in law post this about my baby,' another person declared.

Olivia Culpo's sister Sophia accused of RACISM after controversial comments about 'Asian genes'

Olivia Culpo 's sister Sophia Culpo has been accused of racism after making a controversial comment about her new baby niece. Sophia, 28, took to TikTok with a now-deleted video which showed her cradling the tot - the daughter, and second child, of older brother Pete. The oldest Culpo sibling married wife Katie Trainor - a Filipino woman - in 2019. In the caption, Sophia wrote: 'When the Culpo genes beat out the Asian genes. 'Say hi to my baby niece Lila!! She looks EXACTLY like my brother, even though she's Filipino.' The model swiftly removed the post but not before others took screengrabs of the questionable upload. One content creator, who shared Sophia's post using the 'green-screen' feature, highlighted the outrage as she explained: 'I do think she just didn't realize because she took this down almost immediately. 'I'm sure the comments were like, "Girl, this is incredibly racist." Sophia, 28, took to TikTok with a now-deleted video which showed her cradling the tot - the daughter, and second child, of older brother Pete 'But it leads me to think she just didn't realize she was being racist. Which is just like, what reality do these people live in? 'I don't know why I'm not seeing anyone else call this out. I don't know if this is like soft-launching the racism. I don't know.' has contacted Sophia Culpo's representatives for comment. Dozens of other viewers were left equally as outraged by the 'insane' caption on her video. 'Like why would she say that?' someone questioned. 'Why would she ever, why, why,' someone wrote. 'That's insane to say,' a comment read. 'Uhmmmmm??!' someone simply wrote, while another said, 'My mouth dropped.' 'There were SO MANY different ways to say, "My niece looks like my brother!"' a comment read. But there were some that rushed to Sophia's defense, as one stated: 'Wait, is it racist though? I'm Asian. I'm not offended.' 'I'm Filipino and I don't find that racist. The white genes beat out the Filipino genes in my family, and we all say that out loud,' another said. 'As a Filipino, I don't think it was racist. At all lol,' a comment read.
