South County Fire highlights in-field blood transfusion program
South County Fire took the opportunity of Emergency Medical Services Week to highlight their in-field blood transfusion program. The fire agency is the first and only in the county that can provide lifesaving blood transfusions in the field, which is essential in trauma cases with severe blood loss. According to South County Fire, a Medical Services Officer (MSO) — a highly trained paramedic specializing in critical care — responds to emergencies with whole blood stored in temperature-controlled coolers. Crews fight heavy flames in Lynnwood house fire
South County Fire responded to a house fire in Lynnwood early Sunday morning, the department posted on X. No residents were home at the time of the fire around 2 a.m. but crews found heavy flames in the garage and going through the roof, the post said. Firefighters extinguished the majority of the flames in about 15 minutes and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Man pulled from house fire in Everett
One man was pulled from a house fire in Everett Monday afternoon. Firefighters responded to the fire around 6 p.m. According to neighbors, a man was pulled from the fire into the street before he was treated by arriving medics. South County Fire confirmed that one man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Harborview Medical Center confirmed that the man remained in critical condition Monday evening. KIRO 7's Jake Chapman will be live with this story tonight at 11 p.m.

Over 60 firefighters respond to fire at Everett storage facility
An Everett storage facility caught fire Monday evening, leading to a huge response from firefighters in Snohomish County. The fire was reported at Trojan Storage on 4th Ave. W around 6:30 p.m. The fire was so large that smoke could be seen for miles. Over 60 firefighters from South County Fire, Everett Fire Department, Mukilteo Fire Department and Paine Field Airport Fire Department responded to the scene. The fire burned through approximately 13 storage bays that have vehicles inside, and 12 additional units were damaged from the heat. Firefighters were able to save an adjoining shop that contained flammable chemicals, South County Fire said. No one was injured. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
