Karnataka followed with Rs 1.25 crore, and Telugu states contributed Rs 90 lakhs. The rest of India added Rs 25 lakhs to the tally. Internationally, the film has grossed approximately $550K (around Rs 4.65 crore), taking the total worldwide pre-sales to an impressive Rs 16.5 crore, according to the reports. Suriya and director Karthik at 'Celebrate the Spirit of Retro' event No early morning shows Despite skipping the usual early morning special shows in Tamil Nadu and overseas markets—a strategy commonly used to boost fan frenzy and opening numbers—Retro has managed to hold strong thanks to the star power of Suriya and the reputation of Karthik Subbaraj as a director with a knack for edgy storytelling.
