Motorcyclist in Lake County dies in afternoon crash
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a motorcyclist lost his life in a collision with a pickup truck in Lake County on Monday afternoon. Troopers said the crash happened around noon on State Road 33 and Pine Island Road in Groveland, which can be viewed on the map below. A cash report states a Yamaha motorcycle and a Ford F-250 were both traveling south on S.R. 33, approaching Pine Island said the motorcyclist began passing traffic in a no-passing zone when the pickup truck turned left to head east on Pine Island Road. The motorcycle's front end hit the pickup truck's left motorcyclist, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Florida Highway Patrol searching for driver in fatal hit-and-run crash in Lake County
FHP has released information on a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred around 10:44 PM on Saturday. Officials say a motorcyclist died in the crash on U.S. 27 at Citrus Grove Road. The incident occurred when a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe hit a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle from behind after the traffic light had turned green. The Tahoe also hit a 2024 Honda HR-V, which had swerved to avoid the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was taken to South Lake Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The Honda's occupants were unharmed and stayed at the scene. The Tahoe's driver fled but left the vehicle abandoned three miles north on U.S. 27. FHP has taken the vehicle and is investigating. 1 dead, 1 seriously injured in Lake County crash
Florida Highway Patrol has released information on a fatal Lake County crash that killed one person and left another seriously injured. Initial details state that a 2020 Ford F350 was traveling westbound on Lake Erie Road when the driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle when coming around a curve. The truck would run off of the road, where it would collide with a tree, killing the passenger of the vehicle. The driver remains in serious condition and was transported to South Lake Hospital. 1 dead, 2 injured in overnight Lake County crash
Florida Highway Patrol has released information about an overnight crash that occurred around 11:40 pm on SR-19 in Lake County. Two vehicles were involved, one being a 2020 Audi A3 and another being a 2013 Ford Mustang. Officials say that the Audi, heading southbound, drifted into the northbound lane and caused a collision with the Mustang. The Mustang ran off the road and collided with a ditch, and when officers arrived on the scene, the driver was pronounced dead.
