2 men, woman shot near Ogden Park in Englewood, police say
Three people were seriously injured Wednesday evening in a shooting near Ogden Park in the Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said.
The victims, two men aged 25 and 37, and a 32-year-old woman, were struck by gunfire around 6:50 p.m. in the 6500 block of South Throop Street, according to Chicago police. Both men were wounded in the body, while the woman suffered a gunshot to her chest and her left leg, police said.
All three victims were transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where they were all listed in serious condition, officials said.
At the scene of the shooting, a police sergeant and an uniformed detective paced back and forth across the roadway, working out where each victim had stood based on blood spatters. The victims were standing in the park when the gunman opened fire, police said.
As the police did their work, fireworks flashed in the distance, while a group of children continued to play, run, and shout at an adjacent playground.
No arrests had been made as Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.
