Man arrested after shooting in Nanaimo, B.C.

Mounties in Nanaimo, B.C., say a 38-year-old man is in police custody after a shooting at a rural home on Tuesday.
Police say other occupants were found in the home when multiple officers responded to the property in the South Wellington area just before 3 p.m.
'Upon arrival, an adult man walked outside of the residence and was taken into custody without incident,' the Nanaimo RCMP said in a news release Wednesday.
The front door of the home had been damaged and a shotgun was found at the scene, police said.
'The home was secured by police overnight while investigators sought judicial authorization to enter and search the residence,' Const. Gary O'Brien said in the release.
Police say the suspect, who was not identified in the release, is facing several weapons charges and is expected to appear in Nanaimo provincial court on Wednesday.
'Investigators believe this was an isolated incident with no further risk to the public,' O'Brien said.
The police response to the scene was hindered by other vehicles failing to pull over to the side of the road to allow responding officers to pass, according to the RCMP.
'This was an extremely violent incident,' O'Brien said. 'Being unnecessarily delayed by other vehicles not following the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act to allow emergency vehicles to pass, increased the danger to the general public.'
