Woman arrested after Netflix star killed in horror hit-and-run
Million Dollar Beach House star Sara Burack, 40, was found by police unconscious at the side of the road. A popular Netflix star has been killed in a horror hit-and-run, which sparked a large-scale manhunt to find the driver. Sara Burack, an estate agent known for appearing on Million Dollar Beach House, was struck by a car just before 3am on Thursday, June 19, on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, New York. The 40-year-old was discovered "unconscious and with serious injuries" by emergency services, according to a press release from the Southampton Town Police Department. She was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, but tragically died a short time later. A huge search was launched by local and state authorities for the driver responsible, who had fled the scene, the Mirror reports. 32-year-old Amanda Kempton, from the state of Virginia, was eventually traced, arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a fatality, which is punishable by up to four years behind bars. Officials have not yet revealed information about how she was identified as a suspect, but have urged anybody with information on the incident to come forward to the police to assist their investigation. Sara had once worked for high-end property company Nest Seekers International, which operates in Manhattan and the Hamptons. Her time with the firm saw her feature in the Netflix show, which followed a team of ambitious young agents trying to sell multi-million dollar properties in the Hamptons. The show's description reads: "The competition is fierce - and the drama undeniable - as a group of young and hungry agents try to seal the deal on luxury listings in the Hamptons." Despite leaving the firm over a year ago, she stayed in touch with ex-colleagues. Geoff Gifkins, its Hamptons regional manager, said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends. Please be kind and respectful as this is a tremendous loss to her parents and close friends." Sara started out working in her family's commercial construction and materials company. She previously told "I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent."

Burack, 40, a real estate agent and former reality TV star, was hit by a vehicle just before 3:00 a.m. on Montauk Highway near the Villa Paul Restaurant in Hampton Bays, New York, and was killed immediately. Suspect Finally Arrested The prominent real estate agent, known for dealing in luxury properties, was found unconscious by police early Thursday on Montauk Highway near the Villa Paul restaurant, authorities said. It remains unclear what kind of vehicle hit Burack, leaving her at the roadside to die. Kempton was scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on the charges Saturday. The investigation at the scene was being conducted by detectives from the Southampton Town Police and the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, according to local outlet Dan's Papers. Burack was featured on a Netflix reality series that showcased competitive real estate agents going head-to-head in the luxury market. Shocking Death Paulette Corsair, a real estate agent and longtime family friend, told Newsday that Burack will be remembered for her kindness and her efforts in raising funds for causes in New York City. "I want people to remember she was an amazing person who really cared for people," Corsair told Newsday. "She was a hardworking real estate agent who was there for others. She was loved greatly by her friends and a close family." Burack shared in an interview that her family owned a commercial construction and materials supply business, where she worked for several years before moving into the high-end luxury real estate industry. "I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent," she told Before to the show's release, Burack referred to "Million Dollar Beach House" as a glimpse into the extravagant lifestyles of the wealthy and those aiming for fame in the upscale seaside enclave. Following an extensive manhunt Amanda Kempton, a 32-year-old woman from Virginia was taken into custody and charged. Kempton was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident in which there is a fatality, a class D felony punishable by up to four years in prison, according to New York Post.
