(AP) — Micah Thomas scored 24 points to help Northwestern State defeat Southeast Louisiana 72-69 on Monday night. Thomas shot 7 of 12 from the field, including 5 for 8 from 3-point range, and went 5 for 5 from the free-throw line for the Demons (14-15, 10-8 Southland Conference). Love Bettis scored 18 points, going 6 of 10 and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line. Sam Hines Jr. led the way for the Lions (18-11, 12-6) with 22 points, six rebounds and two steals. Brody Rowbury added 20 points and six rebounds. Jeremy Elyzee totaled 16 points and four steals. ___

Javohn Garcia, Joe Charles lead McNeese to 88-82 victory over SE Louisiana

(AP) — Javohn Garcia scored 18 points, Joe Charles added a double-double and McNeese beat Southeast Louisiana 88-82 on Monday night. Garcia added six rebounds for the Cowboys (21-6, 15-1 Southland Conference). Charles totaled 17 points and 10 rebounds. DJ Richards made four 3-pointers and scored 14. The Lions (17-10, 11-5) were led by Jakevion Buckley with 25 points, seven assists and four steals. Jeremy Elyzee and Jaiden Lawrence both scored 14 as the Lions saw a five-game win streak end. ___

HOUSTON (AP) — Jakevion Buckley scored 25 points to lead Southeast Louisiana to a 69-60 victory over Houston Christian on Monday night. Buckley also grabbed seven rebounds for the Lions (16-9, 10-4 Southland Conference). Sam Hines Jr. had 12 points and Brody Rowbury scored 11. Julian Mackey finished with 25 points and two steals for the Huskies (11-14, 8-6). Bryson Dawkins had 12 points and D'Aundre Samuels totaled 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three blocks. ___
