Asda announces major change in its cafe - and parents will love it over half-term
Under 16s will be able to dine at Asda 's cafés for just 60p throughout May as the supermarket rolls back its prices in celebration of the supermarket's 60th anniversary.
The grocer is set to slash the café meal deal price to just 60p for the entire month, allowing parents with four children to feed them a hot meal each for less than £2.50.
Nine meals are on offer including penne pasta with meatballs, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, and Margherita pizza.
They are all served with an apple, pear or banana.
The offer, accessible in more than 205 Asda cafés, is also available during May half-term week, allowing families a cheap and tasty meal during the holidays.
Asda first launched the meal deal for £1 in June 2022 to allow children under 16 to enjoy a hot meal at an affordable price, and since then six million children have dined via the deal.
The supermarket deal has no minimum spending requirements or the need to purchase an adult meal.
Discussing the deal, Ian McEvans, Vice President of Commercial Food at Asda, said, 'Asda has a rich heritage in supporting families and reducing our already hugely popular Kids Eat for £1 initiative to 60p is the perfect way to highlight that and to kick-start our 60th birthday celebrations.
'We know families face financial pressures when it comes to feeding their children, not just during the school holidays, but all year round.
'We've served over six million meals since we first launched the initiative in 2022, proving what a lifeline it is to families across the UK, so I'm delighted that we can drop the price to 60p this May and hope to reduce some of that pressure even further.'
It comes after Asda launched its first ever bridesmaid dress range with prices starting from £24.
With prices up to £32, the new range offers affordable alternatives to other high street and designer frocks that often cost a fortune.
The collection boasts four different styles, from halter necks, multi-ways, and chiffon sleeves, in sizes eight to 24, catering to all the tastes of all different bridesmaids.
While the dresses come in various shapes and sizes, all the dresses come mid-length or longer.
Dresses are sold in various colours, including pale pink, navy, and sage, to ensure a style fit for every season.
Shoppers can get their hands on the British supermarket's latest designs from March 8 on
The range comes as an increasing number of customers are turning to their local supermarkets to browse the clothing racks.
Brands from PrettyLittleThing to Zara are no longer the favourite of fashion fans who have ditched the well-loved high street stores in favour of cheap dupes and must-have wardrobe staples from the likes of Asda.
Customers have flocked to TikTok to encourage other shoppers to take advantage of the affordable clothing ranges, claiming that they are 'obsessed' with the styles on offer.
One influencer who goes by Southerly Bower (@southerlybower) took to TikTok to share her thoughts on Asda's clothing collection.
She showed her followers her haul, trying her favourite items on in the changing rooms and sharing her thoughts.
The content creator started her video by commenting that she was very excited before showing off a long leopard print coat.
She said: 'I knew this coat was going to be good. I know it's going to be a love or hate but I'm a lover.'
