Friends raise money in honour of fan who died at game
TWO friends of a Didcot Town supporter who sadly passed away following a medical emergency during a home game have raised almost £2,000 for charity. Bob Worth suffered a heart attack while watching the Railwaymen against Willand Rovers earlier this month. The fixture in Southern League Division One South was stopped eight minutes before the break, with the players sent to the changing rooms and the game later abandoned. The Railwaymen posted online: 'Didcot Town supporters Steve Reader and Mark Wright were both delighted to complete the Reading Half Marathon. 'Both found the run difficult, but they were both determined to cross the finish line at the Madejski Stadium in memory of Didcot Town supporter Bob Worth, who sadly died at the first team game at the start of this month, and raising money for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance in his honour. Non-league club pays tribute to fan who died after medical emergency at game
DIDCOT Town have paid tribute to a 'huge character' who passed away following a medical emergency during their home game yesterday. The match between the Railwaymen and Willand Rovers in Southern League Division One South was stopped eight minutes before the break, with the players sent to the changing rooms and the game later abandoned with the visitors 2-0 in front. Bob Worth was a huge character at the club, and he will be sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. 'Once again, we would like to send our deepest condolences to his family and friends from everyone at Didcot Town. 'We would like to thank everyone from the football family for their well-wishes yesterday and today, and those that have left flowers at the club. 'We would also like to thank Vicky, who is a parent from our youth system, who was there and on hand to help, as well as the physio staff from both Didcot Town and Willand Rovers for their quick response and doing everything they could for Bob. 'Bob, you will be missed by everyone at the Loop Meadow Stadium.'

Non-league fan dies after medical emergency at home game
DIDCOT Town are in mourning after a regular supporter of the club died following a medical emergency during a home game. The match between the Railwaymen and Willand Rovers in Southern League Division One South was stopped eight minutes before the break, with the players sent to the changing rooms and the game later abandoned. The visitors were 2-0 in front when the match was called off yesterday afternoon. The Railwaymen posted on Twitter: 'Didcot Town is mourning the death this evening of a regular supporter of the club. 'The supporter died following a medical emergency at our home game with Willand Rovers this afternoon. 'The thoughts of everyone at Didcot Town are with the family and friends of the supporter and out of respect to them, we will not announce his name this evening until they have had an opportunity to speak with the relatives and friends.' A host of Oxfordshire clubs replied to the Railwaymen's post, including Banbury United, who said: 'The thoughts of everyone at BUFC are with you all at Didcot Town as well as the supporter's family and friends this evening.' Thame United said: 'All of us at Thame United send our deepest sympathy to family and friends and all involved at Didcot Town.' Abingdon United reported: 'Our deepest condolences to Didcot Town this evening. Our thoughts are with the supporter's friends, family and you all.' 'Our thoughts are with everyone at Didcot Town and the family of the supporter. No one should go to a game and not return home,' posted Ardley United. Milton United said: 'Our thoughts are with everyone at Didcot Town and the supporter's family and friends at this difficult time. From everyone at Milton United.' Wallingford and Crowmarsh FC added: 'We send our condolences to the Didcot Town supporter's family, friends and the club. Very sad news and our thoughts are with everyone involved with the response.'
