2025 SCCPSS Teacher of the Year
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A local teacher received a big honor on Thursday.
Jennifer Hughes of Southwest Elementary School received the teacher of the year award at the Hyatt Regency in Savannah.
The teacher of the year goes on to serve as the leader of the Professional Senate and holds a seat alongside board members at school board meetings.
The overall principal of the year is Alfred McGuire of Woodville Tompkins. Tompkins joined WSAV for a segment of Winning Wednesday after being named High School Principal of the Year.
