Southwick police searching for vehicle connected to shoplifting

SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – The Southwick Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a vehicle connected to a shoplifting incident Wednesday afternoon. Mass. man arrested in Connecticut in connection with 2024 police pursuit Southwick Police said that the incident occurred at approximately 2:57 p.m. on Wednesday at Tractor Supply, located at 673 College Highway. While off-duty, Sergeant Wescott observed a vehicle leaving the area that police believe is connected with the shoplifting. Investigation revealed that a Florida Passenger plate was affixed to the vehicle, and Southwick Police believe the plate may be attached to conceal the car's actual owners. The vehicle also has damage to its rear bumper. The car was last seen driving north on College Highway into Westfield. SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – Police are looking for the public's help to identify the driver who hit a bicyclist on North Loomis Street in Southwick Monday evening. In a news release from the Southwick Police Department, a driver hit a bicyclist at around 5:27 p.m. while driving south on North Loomis Street. The vehicle they are looking for is a later model Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, possibly 2003-2006 model. A witness told police that the truck looked like it was spray painted black and had a white Z71 emblem on the side. VIDEO: Rampage at the 'X' in Springfield caught on camera The police say that the hit-and-run driver is described as a young white male, possibly 18 to 22 years old. The vehicle in question would possibly have some right front damage. If you have any information or can identify the driver, you are asked to call the Southwick Police Department at 413-569-5348. SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – The Southwick Police Department conducted a narcotics sweep at Southwick Regional School on Tuesday. Wilbraham police warn residents of unlicensed solicitors on Rochford Drive Southwick Police Chief Rhett Bannish told 22News that the sweep was carried out by trained police dogs from the Hampden County Sherriff's Department and the Western Mass. Police Work Dog Association. The sweep served as a proactive measure for the protection of Southwick students. Chief Bannish said that the police will continue to work with local law enforcement to ensure that the learning environment remains safe and secure.
