Apple's 13-inch iPad Air M3 is $100 off for Memorial Day
We think the iPad Air is the best blend of price, features and performance in Apple's tablet lineup, and the 13-inch version in particular is a fine buy if you want a roomier display for multitasking or streaming video without paying the iPad Pro's extravagant prices. If you've been waiting for a sale on the jumbo-sized slate, good news: The device is $100 off Apple's list price and back down to $699 at Amazon and B&H. That's a deal we've seen for much of the last few weeks, but it still matches the lowest price we've tracked for the most recent model, which was released in March and runs on Apple's M3 chip. This offer applies to the base model with 128GB of storage. If you need more space, the 256GB and 512GB variants are also $100 off at $799 and $999, respectively. The former is another all-time low, while the latter only fell about $25 lower during a brief dip at the start of the month. The one catch is that these discounts only apply to the Space Gray colorway. We gave the newest 13-inch iPad Air a score of 89 in our review. This year's model is a straightforward spec bump, with the only major upgrade being the faster chip. So if you're coming from a prior M2 or M1 model and are still happy with its performance, there's no real need to upgrade. The M2 version in particular is still worth buying if you see it on sale — right now Target has the 256GB version of that slate down to $699, so feel free to grab that instead if you don't mind buying something slightly less futureproof. Either way, the Air remains a fairly definitive upgrade over the entry-level iPad (A16). It's certainly more expensive, but its laminated display doesn't look as cheap, holds up better against glare and can pump out slightly bolder colors. Its speakers sound less compressed, and it works with superior Apple accessories like the Pencil Pro stylus and latest Magic Keyboard. The M3 chip is noticeably faster for more involved tasks like exporting high-res videos or playing new games as well. More importantly, it sets the Air up better going forward, as features like Apple Intelligence and the Stage Manager aren't available on the lower-cost model at all. Plus, the base model is only available with an 11-inch display; if you want that bigger screen, this is the most affordable way to get it. Once you leap that hurdle, they're great computers you can use for work, school, marathoning your favorite shows, and practically everything in between. They also can really last, which is pretty important if you've seen computer prices lately. Even older MacBook models are still a solid investment, especially if you're looking for a good computer for lightweight daily tasks. If you want to get an Apple computer minus the Apple price, check out refurbished devices like this one. This MacBook Pro is in near-mint condition, but it has still been marked down from $1,499 to $329.97, but there are only a few of them left. This MacBook has a 3.1GHz Intel Core i5 processor and Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz, so it can handle everyday tasks, multitasking, and even some heavier workloads without slowing down. The 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD mean you'll have enough memory and storage to keep things running smoothly, whether you're working on documents, streaming your favorite shows, or organizing photos. Retina displays always look good, and this one doesn't disappoint. It has a resolution of 2560x1600 and a brightness of 500 nits, so it looks clear and vibrant for creative work. One of the benefits of buying a slightly older MacBook is they still have all their ports. This one has four USB-C ports for charging, extra displays, and fast file transfers. And don't forget about the Touch Bar, which adds a cool level of interactivity with customizable controls, along with the security of Touch ID for fast login and Apple Pay. April 30 at 11:59 p.m. PT is the deadline to get a MacBook Pro on sale for $329.97, but we might run out before then. StackSocial prices subject to change.

Honor MagicBook Pro 14 beats the new MacBook Air in one striking way
Although its name may suggest otherwise, Mobile World Congress (MWC) is not just a show for mobile devices. The business side touches every facet of the consumer technology industry, and many of the biggest companies unveil new products for the European and wider global markets. The latest edition — MWC Barcelona 2025 — did oversee a return to form, with more mobile devices launched than in recent years, but one of the non-mobile devices that stood out for me was the Honor MagicBook Pro 14. Why? Inside and out, it packs a big punch and won't break the bank, but it does so in one of the most unique colorways I've seen on a laptop. Here are the key features, the color in question, and why it's even more unique than the new Apple MacBook Air. The Honor MagicBook Pro 14 costs the equivalent of $800, and you get a lot of choices for that price. It comes with a choice of two processors — the Intel Core Ultra 5 225H or Core Ultra 9 285H — and 1TB of storage. It comes with 16, 24, or 32GB of RAM depending on the processor and weighs just under 3 pounds. Then there's the choice of display, with the same 14.6-inch OLED display found across the touchscreen and non-touchscreen versions of the laptop. Whichever you choose, you'll get a panel with excellent color accuracy that covers the entire DCI-P3 color space, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 700 nits. There are also two USB 3.2 Type-C ports and two USB-A ports. The former support data speeds up to 10 Gbit/s and can be used to charge the device, but they are both on the left side of the machine next to the headphone jack and HDMI 2.1 port. On the other side, the two USB-C ports support data speeds of up to 5 Gbit/s, while there is also a full-HD webcam, a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, two speakers, and three microphones. The package is powered by a 92Wh battery that should deliver up to 12 hours of battery life but likely won't match the new MacBook Air's record 18-hour battery life. The Honor MagicBook Pro 14 isn't the slimmest or lightest, but it is one of the most unique and striking laptops in one key way. The majority of technology looks boring. Most smartphone makers offer devices in a small subset of the color spectrum, and while some phone makers also offer colorful choices, laptops, in particular, haven't really followed. Apple chose to take a step in this direction this week with the launch of the new MacBook Air, which swaps out the Space Gray model in favor of a lovely Sky Blue, but that's still a version of a standardized color. Honor chose the new MagicBook Pro 14 to debut a beautiful light green colorway that is one of the most striking. We've seen green in laptops before, but these have often been much darker hues that look almost black — I've never seen a company adopt such a light hue. Of course, light green won't be for everyone, so there's also a shiny white version that isn't anywhere near as unique. When Apple replaced Space Gray with Sky Blue in its new MacBook Air lineup, I was shocked. The company makes a range of beautiful and colorful iMacs, which are designed to be statement pieces in the home, but it hasn't strayed from its core color values in the laptop space. Many have waited for Apple to bring its iMac colors to more of its lineup, but even when doing so, the company has stuck to a core color choice. Yes, the new Sky Blue is absolutely stunning, but it's not as out-there as bringing the yellow, purple, or pink iMac colors to the MacBook Air. I hope that we see Apple launch more colorful laptops in the future, but until we do, the Honor MagicBook Pro 14 will remain one of the most unique color choices that you can buy. I also hope that more companies engage with color choices as laptops can be quite homogeneous, and I would love to see more colorful choices.

SEE ALSO: The Apple Studio Display is down to its lowest-ever price at Amazon When it comes to shopping for the best iPads, Mashable ranks the M2 iPad Air as the best option for most people. "It will be your new go-to device for streaming, reading, or creative projects. And if you plan on using your tablet as a substitute for a laptop, it'll work for that, too," explains Mashable Shopping Reporter Samantha Mangino. While the M2 version the iPad Air is no longer the thinnest (that award now goes to the M4 iPad Pro), it still packs in the features for the price. In Mashable's testing, the M2 iPad Air got over 13 hours of battery life. The 13-display uses Liquid Retina for an impressive screen experience, meaning it'll be great for streaming your shows while cozy on the couch. But since it's compatible with both the Magic Keyboard and the Apple Pencil, you'll be able to use the iPad Air as a mobile work station instead of carting your laptop around. That means your carry-on bag with likely weigh much less and have much more space for important stuff like an extra sweater. Since it's down to its lowest price ever of $689, consider snagging the M2 Apple iPad Air as gift to yourself for making it through January. Since there's no telling when the price will head back to the normal $799, it's best to jump on this one as soon as possible.
