MCLEAN, Va. () — A woman who was shot after driving onto the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) headquarters property in McLean last week was accused of driving drunk, according to authorities. Court documents obtained by DC News Now revealed that Monia Spadaro was charged with one count of endangering a person while fleeing and eluding and driving under the influence. Documents detailed that on May 22, just after 3:30 a.m., Spadaro was spotted driving a Toyota Corolla and going the wrong way when she had crossed onto the CIA grounds, entering a restricted U.S. Government area. She was detained and taken to the hospital. According to the court documents, while at the hospital, Spadaro told a CIA officer that she had been drinking at a restaurant in Vienna. Officers also emphasized that while in the ambulance, she smelled of alcohol. During their investigation, officials learned that Spadaro was previously convicted for driving under the influence of alcohol in Virginia in 2021. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
