Puppy recovering after vicious attack in Ocala dog park: 'Didn't think she was going to survive'

The Brief May, a 9-month-old Spaniel, is recovering after a violent attack by a larger dog at a local park. The other dog's owner fled the scene but has since been identified. No charges have been filed as police continue their investigation. OCALA, Fla. - A nine-month-old English Springer Spaniel is back home recovering after a violent attack at a Marion County dog park left her with serious injuries and sent her to a veterinary hospital. What we know An English Springer Spaniel named May is recovering at home after suffering serious injuries in a dog attack at Letty Towles Dog Park in Ocala. May sustained broken ribs, internal bleeding, and a puncture wound after being attacked by a larger dog. She was rushed to an animal hospital and spent several days in intensive care before returning home. What we don't know Authorities have not released the identity of the other dog's owner, nor have they confirmed whether the attacking dog was up-to-date on vaccinations or had a history of aggression. It's also unclear whether any future legal or civil action will be pursued. What they're saying May had only recently become part of the family. Originally intended as a short-term foster, her owners said she quickly bonded with them and their other pets. "She was just going to live with us for a couple of weeks," said owner Jack O'Leary. "We fell in love with her, and she fell in love with our dogs, and she became part of our family." The family said the attack occurred shortly after May arrived at the park with her owners, and the attack was described as swift and violent. "We didn't think she was going to survive," Jack said. "I hopped the fence and tried to help as best I could. He clamped down on her chest with his jaws." A few people jumped in a got the dog off of May. "It was probably 15 seconds. Felt like 15 minutes," said owner Maryann O'Leary. However, they said the owner of the other dog was not one of them. "The other dog owner fled before we could get their information," Jack said. The family is thankful the situation wasn't much worse and shared how the ordeal brought unexpected community support. "The amount of people that have reached out to us and offered help and tips and just like support and kind words has been incredible," Maryann added. What's next Ocala police confirmed they have since located and spoken with the other dog owner. As of Tuesday, no charges have been filed. Katie Price reveals tightened face after latest transformation while on dog walk

After Katie Price's latest cosmetic work, she's been spotted out and about on a walk with her new dog in Wales. The former glamour model, 46, is no stranger to going under the knife in the name of cosmetic procedures, and her latest facelift has transformed her look. With her new taut face on show, Katie was seen taking her Spaniel puppy Rookie for a walk while wearing a white t-shirt, a black fluffy cardigan, and some silvery sweatpants on Tuesday in Rhyl, North Wales, ahead of her Easter Pantomime Pinocchio at the Pavilion Theatre that evening. She also clutched a vape alongside her dog, who was secured in a pink harness and lead. While unveiling her healed face after her trip to Turkey in August last year Katie said she was 'finally happy' following the £10,000 lifting procedure, which marked her sixth facelift. But she wasn't totally satisfied, as since Katie has got lip filler and anti-wrinkle 'touch ups', adding to a long list of procedures she's put her body through, including 17 boob jobs, botox, nose jobs, eye lifts, tummy tucks, Brazilian but lifts, and liposuction. Katie also recently said she plans on getting her fourth BBL. This is despite concerns about how her body will respond to yet more procedures, with BBLs having the highest death rate of all cosmetic procedures. Dr Mark Solomos, a leading plastic surgeon, previously told Channel 4 show 10 Years Younger: 'The first thing I want to say about Katie is that no responsible surgeon would or should perform surgery on her.' The star has previously admitted she worries about her cosmetic surgeries eventually killing her. During a session with a clairvoyant, Katie was told that she would pass away peacefully in her sleep. The eerie prediction sent her into a spiral, as the mum-of-five was warned by her sister, Sophie, that the clairvoyant could be alluding to being under anaesthesia. 'I know this is really weird, but I was having a conversation with my sister on our podcast the other day,' Katie began in an interview with Greatest Hits Radio. 'And I remember when I was in America and I went and saw a lady with a crystal ball, you know, like a medium or clairvoyant or whatever they're called. I know not many people would ask that, but I did. 'She said, 'Oh, you're going to die in your sleep peacefully.' And then my sister said, 'And you're going for surgery, you'll probably die in your sleep'.' Katie added: 'That sort of triggered something in my head. And I was like, 'Do you know what? Imagine if that is,' because the amount of times I've been put to sleep and that's stuck in my mind.' It also seems Katie isset on expanding her pet family regardless of warnings from charities not to. When the Mucky Mansion star first revealed her spaniel Rookie at 10 weeks old, she was faced withg huge backlash as animal charities begged her to stop owning pets after seven animals died in her care including horses, dogs, cats, and a chameleon. PETA even offered the TV personality £5,000 to sign a legally binding document to stop her from owning any in the future after she gave away a puppy called Tank after 'losing interest'. Responding to people who say she shouldn't own animals, Katie told The Sun: 'When people say I shouldn't have animals, it's circumstances that were out of my hands. 'It's no lack of me not looking after them or anything like that. I love animals, I love nurturing.' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video While Katie's 2024 was a turbulent one, having been arrested at Heathrow Airport on her way back from Turkey in August after having failed to turn up to her bankruptcy hearing, this year is looking up. That's what Katie's psychic Tracey Woolterton – also known as Psychic Tracey – told Metro, anyway. More Trending 'I'm getting May for her. I also feel there's going to be a contract that's going to come her way, so she will be able to sort her finances out,' Tracey said. 'But the thing is with Katie, she's a spender. She needs to learn to reign it in and start saving. I feel it will be to do with TV.' It seems Katie's career prospects are already looking up, as she was recently spotted on a film set of a spoof film called Jackie The Stripper, which sees the TV personality play Lisa, the titular Jackie's mentor in the world of strip clubs and dancing. She stars in it alongside actor James Phelps, 39, who played Fred Weasley in Harry Potter, as well as Charlotte Kirk (Duchess), Jamie Lomas (Hollyoaks), Chloe Meadows (Stigma), and Kimberly Wyatt (13 Going On 30).
