Pregnant Sophie Habboo reveals Jamie Laing threatened to LEAVE her over 'unbearable' hormones as she laments her 'enormous t*ts' and caviar cravings in Nearly Parents podcast
Sophie Habboo and Jamie Laing have opened up on their pregnancy journey on the first episode of their newly-branded podcast, Nearly Parents. The former Made In Chelsea stars announced they were expecting their first child in a sweet social media post on Tuesday, after tying the knot in a lavish Spanish wedding in 2023. The couple took to their podcast to tell their fans all about their impeding parenthood for the first time, where Sophie, 30, revealed some of the struggles she'd been dealing with in her pregnancy. She confessed that when her second trimester, she felt like she was 'dying' and was dealing with a lot of hormones that made her frequently feel irritated, quipping: 'This girl has gone from a bit of a b***h to don't come near me.' She explained: 'Up until week eight, I was smooth sailing. No good aversions, no sickness, so much energy, I was like what is every talking about this is unbelievable. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'Week eight hit and everyone's starting to grate to me a bit. Like that man sat next to me on the plane breathing, like is it illegal if I punch him in the face? 'If you're a fan of the podcast, I love you so much but you're not going to like me if you meet me at the moment.' Jamie, 36, then admitted to struggling to get his head around Sophie's mood changes with pregnancy, recalling: 'I asked Sophie if she had any cravings and she said, 'No, the only craving I have is hating you'. 'I then spent an evening on Reddit looking at "Why does your wife hate her husband so much when they're pregnant". He went on: 'Sophie is teaching me to drive and I'm a little bit nervous in the car and she goes "You're a s**t driver". I'm literally in my head going "Oh my god she's hasn't eaten this is really scary". 'Sophie then gets so angry she says to me "I'm so angry I want to drive us both into the back of this car and kill us". And then she started crying!' Sophie confessed that the 'anger is uncontrollable' but that it 'was very fleeting' as she lamented how her 'enormous tits' also meant she couldn't fit in any of her clothes. While Jamie then candidly told listeners how he owed her a real apology after not taking her hormones seriously and threatening to leave her over her 'grumpiness'. Sophie said: 'Jamie was like "Oh you're just milking it, you fake all your hormones, there's no such thing". He went "Oh you're just faking all of this." I was like "Oh my god" as I'm lying there with my enormous tits out and I can't fit into a single thing.' Recalling the incident in question, she went on: 'We are leaving and I feel really sick this day and Jamie gets his camera out and goes "I'm going to vlog today". Like on my Sunday that I'm about to vomit all day long. 'And what happened was Jamie sits down and he goes "I'm going to call my friends and ask them what I should do about this. Because I'm going to have to leave you. I'm going to leave you because you're just so unbearable right now."' Jokingly pretending to break down in tears, she went: And I went "You're going to leave me and I'm pregnant".' In defence of his actions, Jamie quickly added: 'The amount of people who are going to call me an a*****e. Just a caveat to add - I had no idea the emotional journey that you go on, how your body changes. 'I just didn't understand the extreme things that go on and since having read stuff on Instagram, I am awe of what you go through. The hormone change is wild.' Showing their Chelsea roots, the couple also revealed that Sophie's worst craving so far was for caviar, recounting how they had dashed round London trying to find a shop that was open at 8pm. Jamie explained they eventually found a caviar store only to discover a single pot cost £240, as he declared: 'I was like "Well that craving has to stop there and then". Sophie revealed that after some Googling, she learned it is recommended that pregnant people avoid the expensive delicacy due to the risks of bacteria and mercury. However, she confessed that the risks were the only thing that stopped her eating it, otherwise would not have allowed the hefty price tag to put her off. She told her husband: 'I was going to give birth and then just be broke and never ever be able to eat again.' Jamie and Sophie also detailed their journey to getting pregnant, gushing how they were 'beyond lucky' to have succeeded on their second try. However, Sophie recalled how getting Jamie to be ready to start trying was 'like drawing blood from a stone', recalling how he 'went green' when she raised the subject. She recalled: 'In fact we went for lunch with my sister and I said as a joke, "Maybe I'm pregnant" because I was a day late on my period. 'We were not trying at this point and Jamie left the restaurant and never came back. Me and my sister were just sat there, and I was like don't worry he'll be having a panic attack.' Jamie defended: 'I was having a mild panic. It was scary for me at this point! You don't understand how scary it is going into this world of having or thinking of having kids.' The Candy Kittens founder also confessed to being uneducated about the topic, saying: 'I honestly thought for my whole life I was walking around with a loaded gun. 'I thought it was easy to get anyone pregnant. I didn't realise that a woman ovulates one day a month.' While he candidly explained he had found it 'complicated to perform' as it was 'so clinical' with Sophie admitting she 'ran a tight ship', when it came to tracking her ovulation. Jamie said: 'I thought I'd get a little drunk, play some Barry White and we canoodle. It's f***ing nothing like that. You get back from a long day and Sophie is standing in the sitting room going "right we've got to go" and it's clockwork. The pair explained they had sex every day for 10 days in a row during their first month trying, with Jamie saying: 'You're basically used as some sort of like funnel, there is nothing sexy about it. Honestly I don't think you took your jumper off once during that period.' He went on: 'Something changed in my head, where my body then closed off. I don't know what happened in my head, something clicked off. And then it became like PTSD in my mind.' Sophie joked: 'I went from a 90 second situation to a 25 minute to 45 minutes every day for 10 days. I was like "Hurry up!"' After succeeding their second time around, Jamie recalled his shock at Sophie telling him she was pregnant. He said: 'I thought I had a good six months to a year of having sex and trying. When you came down and told me I was like "what?" 'When you told me I was purely floating. It's like the most insane moment ever.' The couple delighted fans last week, by sharing the news they were expecting with a clip of Sophie having an ultrasound, captioned with a heart emoji. The joyous announcement came just after Sophie joined Jamie in presenting his Radio 1 drive time show when his co-star Vick Hope left on maternity leave. Vick, 35, who is expecting her first child with DJ Calvin Harris, 41, hosted her last show on the station last week. Back in April, Jamie and Sophie spilled the beans about their future plans on building a family during a chat with The Times. Jamie explained: 'I was really scared about kids. It's something you can't control. Sophie would then carry a baby, all these different things that I can't control and, "Oh God, what happens if this happen or that happens?" 'But I saw a clip on Instagram where someone said, "The best thing I ever had is being called Dad." I was like, "Oh, wouldn't that be cool?" So now I'm so down for it. I would like to have loads.'

The post was simply captioned with a heart emoji and was soon flooded with well wishes from their followers. Sophie and Jamie married in a lavish Spanish wedding in 2023 surrounded by their famous pals and family after getting together on Made In Chelsea in 2019. The announcement comes just after Sophie joined Jamie in presenting his Radio 1 drive time show when his co-star Vick Hope left on maternity leave. Vick, 35, who is expecting her first child with DJ Calvin Harris, 41, hosted her last show on the station last week. Sophie and Jamie already host their podcast NewlyWeds together - with the duo recently revealing it would be going on a break. In an Instagram update last week, they announced: 'The podcast is taking a break?! We're pressing pause but only for a moment.' A source later told The Sun: 'Sophie is joining the Radio 1 family and everyone is really excited that she'll be bringing her chemistry with hubby Jaime to the airwaves. 'They're already pros after doing their podcast for so many years but this is a huge moment for them and they can't wait. 'It could lead to endless opportunities for them as a couple. They could even be a modern day Richard and Judy.' Sophie recently sparked pregnancy rumours as she shared a bikini Instagram while touching her stomach. The former Made In Chelsea star announced she was expecting her first child with her husband Jamie in a post on Instagram on Tuesday And back in April Jamie and Sophie spilled the beans on their baby plans. Jamie added he would be up for four kids, and the blonde beauty agreed with him sweetly. Sophie and Jamie had two weddings - a civil ceremony at Chelsea Town hall before jetting to Spain for a bigger, more lavish ceremony. A host of their Made In Chelsea co-stars were in attendance including Sam Thompson, Olivia Bentley, Emily Blackwell, Spencer Matthews and Oliver Proudlock. Blonde beauty Sophie got engaged to Jamie in December 2021 after they started dating in April 2019 on the show. At the time they revealed that they turned down offers to film their wedding for a Made In Chelsea special – just after the Strictly star quit the E4 series to save their romance. The couple revealed they had decided against turning their nuptials into a reality spinoff show because Jamie believed relationships have a better chance of surviving away from the cameras. The Candy Kittens owner told MailOnline reality TV is 'tough on the soul' and after realising he wanted to marry former co-star Sophie he knew his departure from Made In Chelsea was inevitable. Jamie revealed: 'We got asked to do a TV show but it's tricky. 'I have done reality for so long and it's tough on the soul. I don't think TV is ever on your own terms so unless you have control over those things then it's quite difficult. 'It's one of those things that you must decide whether you want to go down the reality TV route again or not. 'Once you get married, what happens then? Do we do another show about being married… when does it end? For the moment I am parking reality.' In agreement with her husband-to-be, Sophie added at the time: 'It is a day for us and our family and friends.' Jamie and Sophie found love on the show after being friends for several years. Their romance caused quite a stir as Sophie had been pals with several of Jamie's exes.

Was this the moment Jamie Laing changed his mind about being a dad? Ex MIC star spoke on podcast about 'secret battle' he hid from Sophie
Former Made in Chelsea stars Sophie Habboo and Jamie Laing have announced they're set to become parents - just weeks after Radio 1 DJ Jamie admitted to his own 'secret battle' over becoming a father. The reality TV couple shared their happy news on Instagram on Tuesday, posting a photo of them staring in awe at an ultrasound scan. The post, captioned with a heart emoji, evoked hundreds of well wishes from fans congratulating them on the incoming pitter patter of tiny feet. However, parenthood hasn't always a given for the couple, who married in a lavish Spanish wedding in 2023 after getting together on Made In Chelsea - with Laing being frank about whether he wanted to become a father at all, saying there's 'no eject button' with children. An episode of his Great Company podcast, in which he shared the mic with University Challenge host Amol Rajan, saw the MIC star admit that the prospect of parenthood once spiked his anxiety levels so badly he fled a restaurant when Sophie told him she thought she might be pregnant. Laing opened up to BBC broadcaster Rajan, 41, saying that he'd been addicted to the 'dopamine' hits of his former party lifestyle - and made the decision at one point that he wouldn't have children at all. In the episode father-of-four Rajan, who endured a long fertility battle with his partner, Charlotte Faircloth, urged couples who are undecided on having children not to use IVF as a 'fallback' - after Laing admitted he wasn't even sure if he was fertile, saying: 'I also don't know if I can, you know I'm 36.' The University Challenge host told the now dad-to-be that his own experiences with struggling to conceive a family had left him fearing that many people still regarded IVF as a 'fallback' - and urged undecided couples not to put off becoming parents because of it. The couple announced they are expecting their first child in a post on Instagram on Tuesday He told Laing: 'I worry about the idea that a lot of people think that you can delay having kids because IVF is, like, this fallback option.' He added: 'IVF is a near miracle technology, it's an amazing thing and it's a wonderful thing but it doesn't work for everyone and it's a lot of heartache.' He said: 'As I got older, I thought I was going to have kids and I was going to have a family, and then that shifted in my mind and I thought "I'm not going to have kids, I'm not going to have a family'". Laing said his 'dopamine-craving period' had seen him not wanting to stop having fun, sparking an 'internal battle' that he didn't share with Sophie, admitting: 'I never told her "I don't think I want to do this"'. He told Rajan that perhaps his biggest fear was that you can't change your mind about being a parent once a baby has arrived. 'I run businesses and different different things but there's always an eject button there's always a way out - with kids, there is not, you're locked in,' he said. Rajan, who also presents Radio 4's Today programme, explained the heartache he and his partner had suffered when fertility treatment hadn't worked. He said: 'The whole time that I was editor of The Independent, I had this kind of secret life where I was trying to run a newspaper, turn a business round.' He said he was also trying to 'be a good boss, be a good journalist, be a good leader - but at the same time my heart was hurting because we were going through IVF.' In another episode of the Great Company podcast in December last year, Laing also opened up about his fears over having kids when his producer Jemima interviewed him. He explained: 'I would really like to have one, but it has been a real long road because I was really scared of babies and I was really scared of commitment. 'The idea of not being able to escape something, with work or even divorce, there's always a way out. But with a baby there's no way out. There is no way out because you are committed to that little human forever and that for me is really quite scary. He went on to add: 'Still really scary, it is a real fear. To the point where at the start of last year, Sophie thought she was pregnant and I had to leave the restaurant because I was so stressed. The news this week of the couple's pregnancy saw a host of famous faces offer their congratulations, including Molly-Mae Hague, Strictly's Dianne Buswell and author and Jamie's close pal Elizabeth Day, who wrote: 'So happy for you both!' Sophie's sister Georgia - who welcomed her first child last year - reshared the post saying it was the 'best news'.
