Allahabad wins state level women cricket match
Kanpur: Allahabad drubbed the challenge of Ghazipur division by a big margin of 133 runs in the Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania memorial state level women cricket championship for Spark Cup being played here at Kamla Club ground on Tuesday. Allahabad Cricket Association, batting first, posted a total of 195 runs in 35 overs. Prity Yadav, Shalini Singh and Khushi were the main scorers and contributed 36, 35, and 38 not out runs respectively. Garima and Anita Yadav of Gazipur bagged 2 and 1 wickets respectively. In reply, Ghazipur girls collapsed for a mere 62 runs. Pretam Yadav scored 32 runs. Bhargavi Pandey and Katyayani Pathak picked 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Spark Cup women's cricket begins
Kanpur: Shibu Singh Pal 's unbeaten knock of 84 runs and Ekta Singh's four wicket haul helped KCA (Red) beat Allahabad cricket Association by 5 wickets in the inaugural match of the third Dr Gaur Hari Singhania memorial state level women cricket championship for Spark Cup being played at Kamla Club on Monday. Allahabad girls, batting first, posted 179 runs in 35 overs. For KCA, Ekta Singh and Archana Devi picked 4 and 3 wickets respectively. KCA Red , in reply, scored 181 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 31.4 overs and won the match. Shibu Singh Pal hit an unbeaten 84 runs. Radha Pandey of Allahabad captured 4 wickets for 40 runs. After the match, Shibu Singh Pal was adjudged as woman of the match. Earlier morning, Neetu David, chairman Women selection committee of BCCI, inaugurated championship. Former test cricketer Rita Dey, Seema Sinha, PS Negi, Dinesh Katiyar were present. tnn

Women's cricket championship starts May 19
Kanpur: The third Dr Gaur Hari Singhania memorial state level women cricket championship for Spark Cup is set to be organised by the Kanpur Cricket Association at Kamla club ground from May 19. Besides defending champion KCA (Red), KCA (Blue), Saharanpur, Lucknow, Gazipur division and Allahabad district team will participate in this championship. According to Kaushal Kumar Singh, secretary KCA, all matches of the championship will be of 35 overs each innings. Teams have been divided in two pools and pool winners will clash in the final slated to be held on May 25. Table Tennis --- CECSE North Zone Table Tennis championship will be organised jointly by Dr VS Public school civil lines & Mahrana Pratap Education Centre Indrapuri on May 20 to 21. Around 84 players (boys & girls) from seven schools will participate in this event which will be held under 14, 17 & 19 years age group. Taekwondo – Kanpur won as many as 48 medals including 34 gold and 5 silver medals in fifth Bharat Ratna Atal Behari Bajpai state Taekwondo Championship being held at KD Singh babu stadium Lucknow from May 15 to 18. On day one, fresher event was held in which Kanpur team performed very well and collected maximum gold. Around 4,700 players are participating in this event.
