Spartan Race Middle East hosted its From Dawn 'Til Dusk event on April 19 at The Arena, Bab Al Shams, attracting more than 5,500 participants and spectators to what organisers called 'one of the region's most immersive and challenging race-day experiences to date.' The event, set in a Colosseum-inspired arena against the desert backdrop of Bab Al Shams, featured race waves from morning through evening. Competitors participated in the 5km Sprint with 20 obstacles, the 10km Super with 25 obstacles, and the 1-3km Kids Race. These teams 'embraced the Spartan course not merely as a race, but as an opportunity to deepen relationships, challenge leadership skills, and engage in meaningful team-building outside traditional office settings,' the organisers said in a statement. 'Spartan's unique race format, demanding both physical endurance and mental fortitude, mirrors the high-pressure challenges faced by leadership teams across the business world,' the statement added. Beyond the physical challenges, the event offered a festival atmosphere with recovery, relaxation, and celebration options. The Festival Village featured food and beverage options from brands including Pickl, Allo Beirut, Gino's Deli, Costa, and Red Bull. Additional amenities included complimentary ice baths, recovery zones, shaded cool-down areas, gaming lounges, and live entertainment for all attendees. Thousands of people took on one of Dubai's most intense and challenging races earlier this month. More than 5,500 participants and spectators gathered at The Arena, Bab Al Shams, for the From Dawn 'Til Dusk event by Spartan Race Middle East on Saturday April 19. The high-octane event saw racers crawl under barbed wire, scale climbing rope and conquer the slip wall over distances ranging from 5km to 10km. Held at a Colosseum-inspired arena in the desert, it was the latest Spartan Race Middle East event to bring together people from all walks of life to take on the challenging obstacle course race. A mix of Dubai's fitness community, social groups, families, first-timers and adventure-lovers all stepped out of their comfort zones at Bab Al Shams. Challenges in the 5km Sprint ranged from a cage climb and barbed wire crawl to a leap over fire and a wall climb. The Super included 25 obstacles over a distance of 10km. A shorter 1-3km kids' race was also available for little Spartans to get a taste of the action. The From Dawn 'Til Dusk race ran from sunrise all the way through to sunset. Following the success of the Trifecta weekend held earlier this year at Dubai Parks and Resorts, the upcoming race will feature two main formats: a 5 km Sprint and a 10 km Super, along with children's races at 1 km, 1.5 km and 3 km. The race will begin in a Colosseum-inspired arena before participants take on a series of obstacles across desert terrain. Competitors will start in waves from dawn, with the challenge running throughout the day and culminating at dusk.
