SAP services extended for maintaining law & order: Samrat
Patna, June 3 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that in view of the internal security and law and order of the state, the service period of 1,717 soldiers working in Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) has been extended for the financial year 2025-26.
Choudhary told media here on Tuesday that this extension to the SAP jawans would effectively address the challenges related to insurgency, violence and law and order in Bihar . A total of Rs 43.66 crore has been sanctioned for the extension of the service period of the SAP.
He said SAP was constituted by the NDA government for the first time in 2006 for speedy improvement in the law and order scenario of Bihar and retired Army personnel were appointed on contract in SAP.
The deputy CM said that constitution of SAP helped police in maintaining law and order.
