Spectrum pledges $1,000 to Good Neighbors initiatives

VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Spectrum is supporting families in need across Broome County with its latest donation. Spectrum has donated $1,000 to Good Neighbors, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting food insecurity. The money was donated through Spectrum's national community philanthropic program, Spectrum Employee Community Grants. The donation will help support Good Neighbors' 'Nourishing Our Neighbors' program. The initiative provides food and other essentials to those in need in the Broome County area. 'We are deeply grateful to Spectrum and the Employee Community Grants program for their generous support of our Nourishing Our Neighbors initiative.' Said Krista Bunzey, Good Neighbors New York State Coordinator. 'This funding helps us continue our mission of delivering food and essential supplies to families across Broome County who are facing hardship. It's especially meaningful to receive this donation through a program that recognizes and uplifts the volunteer efforts of Spectrum employees. Partnerships like this are vital in creating a more resilient and compassionate community.' Since 2019, Spectrum Employee Community Grants has provided funding to over 591 nonprofits. Recipients help underserved residents meet basic needs, including providing food, shelter, clothing, job training and neighborhood safety. Spectrum donates $2,500 to Green Bay First to support community services

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Spectrum donated $2,500 to Green Bay First through the company's employee-driven grants program on Monday. Green Bay First offers a food pantry three times per week on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. It also provides three meals every Sunday to combat food insecurity and foster fellowship. Outside of meal services, Green Bay First offers a health clinic, clothing closet, and youth programming. Jamie Wall joined Spectrum on Monday morning to present a $2,500 check and see first-hand the effort that goes into the food pantry. 'Food insecurity hurts families and kids,' said State Sen. Jamie Wall. 'With this grant, Green Bay First and Spectrum are helping those in need right here in Green Bay and Brown County.' 'I'm proud to serve a community that comes together to help those in need,' said Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich. 'Green Bay First does incredible work not only with providing food and clothing to community members, but transportation, health services and so much more. This grant from Spectrum expands the organization's reach to support even more of the Green Bay community.' Launched in 2019, Spectrum Employee Community Grants support nonprofits nominated by employees with a personal connection to the organization through at least one year of their own volunteer work, including $125,000 in grants in Wisconsin to date. Spectrum has committed to award $2.5 million over the next five years to local nonprofits through Spectrum Employee Community Grants. Charter pledges to support a minimum of 500 nonprofit organizations across its 41-state service area, impacting more than 70,000 community members, through 2028.
