A top Indian restaurant in County Durham is fast earning a reputation as a magnet for sporting legends, TV personalities, and cultural icons, with big names regularly dropping by to savour its renowned cuisine. Spice Lounge, in Durham City, has been quietly establishing itself as a firm favourite among celebrities – and now its guest list is beginning to turn heads. Among those to dine at the popular venue is Ottis Gibson, the former West Indies fast bowler and a 2012 T20 World Cup-winning coach, who enjoyed a memorable evening at the Spice Lounge. The footballing world has also been represented, with Niall Quinn, former Arsenal and Republic of Ireland striker and ex-Sunderland chairman, dining at the venue – to the delight of staff and patrons alike. Guaranteeing top-quality service, all menu items are made to order with promises of "the flavours of east meeting west." Dishes at the Spice Lounge include the likes of biriyani, tandoori, passanda, madras, vindaloo and much more. On Tripadvisor, one fan said: "Could not fault either the service or food. "As soon as we walked into the restaurant, we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. "The dishes we selected(a couple with the guidance of the waiter) were all really tasty and packed with interesting ingredients." On Tripadvisor, one happy guest said: "Fantastic food, Fantastic service and price. Very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend this restaurant." Location: 217-219 Park Ave, Bushey WD23 2DQ Bushey's Raj Garden was recommended by many locals in the area, as one said, "nowhere else compares". Raj Garden shares that it "presents a smart, dynamic and happy service to all our customers" adding that all meals are "truly authentic". At the Raj Garden, you enjoy the likes of samosas, lamb ceylon, korai kebab khyberi, mixed thali and more. On Tripadvisor, one guest said: "Good curry, very good price and lovely staff. Really nice experience. "Didn't have to wait long, food was tasty and the service excellent. Highly recommend." Location: 20 High St, Abbots Langley WD5 0AR The Noor Mahal in Abbots Langley was recommended by many locals, and describes itself as offering a "wide and diverse menu packed with tasty" dishes.
