Spice of India ready for Binghamton Restaurant Week
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A fairly new restaurant on Binghamton's Southside is participating in its second Restaurant Week.
Spice of India opened last August at the corner of Vestal Avenue and Mary Street just in time to be a part of last fall's promotion. This time, it's offering a 3-course lunch for $15 and a 3-course dinner for $25.
The lunch special features customizable street bowls. The dinner includes a choice of 4 of Spice of India's most popular entrees, including lamb saag, which is spinach. A highlight of dessert is the sweet semolina pudding.
Owner Manish Verma says he has a wide variety of offerings.
'Our menu is designed in a way so that there is something for everybody. We have stuff for meat eaters, chicken lovers, vegetarian people, people who are vegan, gluten-free, everything is a part of it. You look at the menu, and no matter what your food choices are, you'll find something delicious on that menu,' Verma said.
Verma says he uses homegrown spices like turmeric and cumin that are both flavorful and therapeutic.
Spice of India is open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 11:30 to 11. For a complete list of Restaurant Week eateries and their special menus, go to
