Latvia, Denmark, Slovakia (and maybe France) qualify for 2026 Olympics Three teams qualified for the men's ice hockey tournament at the 2026 Winter Olympics on Sunday by winning de facto play-in games on the last day of the final qualifying tournament.
In both cases, France takes the place of Russia, although the groups would have been different, based on the IIHF World Rankings. France was the highest-ranked second-place team in the final round of qualifying for men and women.
Russian teams last competed in an IIHF-sanctioned event at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, where both men's and women's teams were called "Russian Olympic Committee" for sanctioning reasons.
