Peter Booth to receive Spotlight Award
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) – On Saturday, the D51 Foundation is hosting its 13th annual White Iced Celebration from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in the Meyer Ballroom at CMU. During the celebration, they will recognize Peter Booth, who is this year's Spotlight Award recipient.
The Spotlight Award is given to an individual who has gone above and beyond to benefit School District 51 and the D51 Foundation. Booth will be awarded for his contributions to the GJHS Archival Project.
The Archival Project was an effort to document, catalog, photograph and memorialize the countless trophies, banners and plaques stored in the old GJHS over the years with the transition to the new building. With a generous donation from Community Hospital for the four interactive touch screens at the new GJHS, Booth and his team were able to preserve the long history of GJHS.
