Summer festivals, carnivals and more: 5 things to do this weekend in the Peoria area
June is full of activities. Here are five events you might want to check out in the Peoria area this weekend.
The 2025 Spring Bay Watermelon Festival will be held from June 5-7 at the Spring Bay American Legion Post 1115, 500 Legion Lane, East Peoria. The festival will feature a variety of events, including a carnival with rides, a vendor fair, a classic car show, live music and plenty of watermelons. The annual Tremont Turkey Festival will take place June 6-8 in downtown Tremont. Activities will include a carnival, country store, car show, parade, live entertainment and a variety of turkey dishes. For a full schedule of events, visit
The annual Strawberry Festival will be held Saturday, June 7, in downtown Elmwood. Central Park at the corner of Main and Magnolia will be filled with crafters and vendors, as well as food, including lots of strawberry desserts, and local entertainers. Get ready to kick off summer in style at Chillicothe's Party in the Park from 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at City Park, 1115 N. 2nd St., Chillicothe. The event will feature live music from Johnny Quest from 5 to 7 p.m. and Stone Cold Cowboys from 8 to 11 p.m., a family-friendly glow experience and eats and treats from local favorites.
The Sunday Funday Block Party & Pickleball Tournament will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 8, in the Pearl Companies parking lot, 1200 E. Glen Ave., Peoria Heights.
