Spring Hill Historical Society reformed after 21-year hiatus
SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) — An historical society in Williamson County is reemerging after a 21-year hiatus. The Spring Hill Historical & Genealogical Society (SHHGS) focused mainly on ancestry of people in the area originally. This time around, they want to focus more on Spring Hill history. The reformed group is now led by a teenager: SHHGS President Benny Jett is just 15 years old. He even put together his own book, 'Spring Hill, Tennessee Veterans,' and helped with the compilation of an historical picture book. Those projects brought together many lifelong Spring Hillians, so they decided to turn the small history group into the historical society. 'That's our reasoning for starting the society, is just to get together and basically be a meeting place for old spring hill to talk about their life and their memories of the old town,' Jett told News 2. Now they meet the first Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. at the Spring Hill Public Library. FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Kentucky State Men's basketball team defeated Spring Hill 105-95 Tuesday in its final home game of the regular season. After trailing by as many as 19 points just before the first half under-12 media timeout, the Thorobreds completed an epic comeback to spit the season series with the Badgers. Kevin Costner's 2014 sports drama Draft Day rebooted for TV with a shift to NBA
Kevin Costner's 2014 sports drama Draft Day is being rebooted as a television series, this time shifting its focus from the NFL to the NBA. Lionsgate TV, SpringHill (founded by NBA star LeBron James and Maverick Carter), and Madison Wells are teaming up for the project. The original movie, directed by Ivan Reitman, starred Costner, Jennifer Garner, and Chadwick Boseman, and explored the high-stakes decisions of an NFL general manager during draft day. According to Deadline, the upcoming series will replicate the intense drama of Draft Day while exploring the NBA world, showcasing players achieving their dreams of being drafted. Jamal Henderson, SpringHill's Chief Content Officer, emphasized the show's dynamic, character-driven narrative, capturing the pressures and triumphs of professional sports. Scott Herbst, EVP and Head of Scripted Development at Lionsgate Television, expressed confidence in the project, praising LeBron James and SpringHill's dedication to sports entertainment. 'With SpringHill's oversight, this project is in the best possible hands,' he noted. Madison Wells CEO Gigi Pritzker, who produced the original film, shared her excitement about adapting Draft Day into a scripted series. She stated, 'This is the right time to move the story to episodic format.' While no writer or premiere date has been announced, the show will build on Lionsgate's history of sports content, including Warrior, Blue Mountain State, and Uncle Drew. SpringHill's recent successes include Hustle on Netflix and Disney+'s The Crossover. The 2014 film Draft Day is currently streaming on Peacock.
