Spring Hill Historical Society reformed after 21-year hiatus
SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) — An historical society in Williamson County is reemerging after a 21-year hiatus.
The Spring Hill Historical & Genealogical Society (SHHGS) focused mainly on ancestry of people in the area originally. This time around, they want to focus more on Spring Hill history.
The reformed group is now led by a teenager: SHHGS President Benny Jett is just 15 years old.

Before he was president, Jett has spent three years immersing himself in Spring Hill history. He even put together his own book, 'Spring Hill, Tennessee Veterans,' and helped with the compilation of an historical picture book.
Those projects brought together many lifelong Spring Hillians, so they decided to turn the small history group into the historical society.
'That's our reasoning for starting the society, is just to get together and basically be a meeting place for old spring hill to talk about their life and their memories of the old town,' Jett told News 2.

The new society held its first meeting last month. Now they meet the first Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. at the Spring Hill Public Library.
Meetings are open for anyone in the Spring Hill community with a passion for history and ancestry to get involved.
