David Cameron selected as new Springfield city manager
Last week, local residents commented during the first reading of the bill to hire Cameron, who was previously the city manager for Republic.
One speaker voiced concerns over Cameron's leadership style and expierence, and Councilman Hosmer criticized the decision to fast-track the vote for the bill to today instead of waiting the normal two weeks. Others, such as the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce president and various city council members, have voiced support for Cameron.
If hired, Cameron wil begin his duties on July 7.
