Unattended candle causes fire on Pheland Street in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield crews were called to a reported structure fire on Pheland Street Wednesday afternoon. Eleven people without home after fire on Dawes Street in Springfield According to Springfield Fire Captain Drew Piemonte, crews arrived at 86 Pheland Street for a reported structure fire just before 3:00 p.m. Arriving firefighters discovered a fire in a second-floor bedroom. The fire was quickly extinguished, and no injuries were reported. The Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad determined the cause of the fire to be an unattended candle left in the room. Fire officials are reminding residents to never leave candles unattended and to be cautious with open flames in the home. Springfield crews put out brush fire on Anglesea Street
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield fire crews were called to a brush fire Thursday afternoon on Anglesea Street. According to Springfield Fire Captain Drew Piemonte, the fire spread to the porch of a house. The Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad is investigating the cause. The fire only caused minor damage.
