Much loved restaurant in Calverton put up for sale with £2 million price tag
It's a restaurant where diners say they can't wait to go back. Springwater Cantonese has been serving affordable, authentic food for decades but now the restaurant has been put up for sale with a £2m price tag.
The popular family-friendly spot has been open for more than 30 years. The huge restaurant in Moor Lane has a main dining area with 120 seats, plus a second with room for 350 diners with a raised stage. Springwater offers an à la carte menu and takeaway.
There's also an all-you-can-eat option, but unlike usual buffets the food is freshly prepared to order with portions made according to the size of the group to avoid waste.

The menu has a huge variety of more than 100 dishes, with favourites such as crispy duck, spring rolls, beef in black bean sauce, sweet and sour chicken and king prawns in spicy crab meat sauce. One of the five-star reviews says: "I used to go here in the 00s for birthday parties/special events as I went to school in Calverton so it was the 'go to' event place. I'm not sure if the décor has changed since then but it's well maintained and very clean - as are the toilets."
Another diner said: "Really great food and the staff were lovely. Would recommend and can't wait to go back again," and a third said: "Had a really good meal at this Cantonese Restaurant. Everything was piping hot and very tasty. We enjoyed all of the dishes we tried, including sweet and sour fish and duck in plum sauce The staff were lovely and service was excellent. We will be returning."
As well as the restaurant, the property also has four bedrooms which are used as staff accommodation. The extensive grounds cover nearly two acres, including a car park for more than 100 vehicles. The property is being advertised for sale by Rightmove. There is also an option to lease the building.
