Odisha govt clears Rs 3,898 cr investment projects to create 7,400 jobs
The Odisha government on Friday approved 19 projects worth Rs 3,898 crore, which are expected to generate employment for over 7,400 people. Lal Baba Seamless Tubes Pvt Ltd proposed to establish a precision tube manufacturing facility in Cuttack with an investment of Rs 200 crore while Surlon India Ltd will set up a railway component manufacturing unit in Sundargarh for Rs 55 crore. In a major development, Tata Steel will invest Rs 700 crore to increase its crude steel capacity from 6.5 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) to 7.1 MTPA, creating 375 new jobs. Sree Metaliks Limited plans an Rs 885 crore expansion of its integrated steel plant in Keonjhar, promising 950 jobs.
