Saraswati Pushkaralu-2025: CM promises huge funding to develop Kaleshwaram
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has vowed to develop the historic Kaleshwaram temple in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district as a major pilgrim centre with improved pilgrim amenities, keeping in view the next Godavari Pushkaralu slated to be held in 2027. Funds to the tune of ₹100 crore to ₹200 crore would be spent to transform Kaleshwaram, the abode of Sri Kaleshwara Sri Mukteshwara Swamy temple, into a major pilgrim destination, he said after attending the rituals on the inaugural day of the 12-day Saraswati Pushkaralu in Kaleshwaram on Thursday (May 15, 2025) evening. The Chief Minister took a holy dip at the 'Triveni Sangamam', the confluence of the Godavari, the Pranahita and the subterranean Saraswati rivers in Kaleshwaram, revered as 'Trilinga Kshetram'. He offered special prayers at the historic temple in the pilgrim centre. He unveiled a 17-foot-tall statue of the Goddess Saraswati and watched the 'Saraswati Nava Ratnamala Harathi' at the brightly illuminated Saraswati Ghat. Ministers D. Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Konda Surekha among others were present. The once-in-12-year event began at 5.44 a.m. with Ganapathi puja, ankurarpana, and other holy rituals amid chanting of Vedic hymns by the priests of the historic Sri Kaleshwara Sri Mukteshwara Swamy temple. Madhavananda Saraswati Swamy of Sri Gurumadananda Saraswati Peetham performed special rituals marking the commencement of the holy event. Addressing the gathering at the Saraswati Ghat late on Thursday evening, the Chief Minister said the age-old tradition of celebrating Pushkaralu, dedicated to worshipping rivers, holds immense cultural significance to carry forward the holy ritual for posterity. The next Godavari and Krishna Pushkaralu as well as the historic Sammakka Saralamma jatara in Medaram will be conducted in a grand manner, he said. Appreciating the official machinery for making elaborate arrangements for the Saraswati Pushkaralu, he said taking a holy dip during the Pushkaralu holds immense spiritual significance. He asked the officials to prepare a master plan for the comprehensive development of Kaleshwaram. The Chief Minister said, 'Manthani Assembly constituency was represented by stalwarts like the former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao and former Assembly speaker D Sripada Rao, who endeared themselves with people and contributed immensely for the betterment of the society and the nation as a whole.' He praised IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, who is presently representing the Manthani Constituency, for his pivotal role in attracting huge investments both foreign and domestic for the accelerated development of the State and employment generation.

Telangana's Kaleshwaram comes alive as 12-day ‘Saraswati Pushkaralu' begins at ‘Triveni Sangamam'
Kaleshwaram, the historic pilgrimage centre in Telangana's Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, witnessed a steady stream of pilgrims right from the early hours of Thursday (May 15, 2025) as the 12-day Saraswati Pushkaralu got off to a devotional start in Kaleshwaram — revered as 'Trilinga Kshetram'. The once in 12-year event began at 5.44 a.m. with Ganapathi puja, ankurarpana, and other holy rituals amid chanting of Vedic hymns by the priests of the historic Sri Kaleshwara Sri Mukteshwara Swamy temple. Madhavananda Saraswati Swamy of Sri Gurumadananda Saraswati Peetham performed special rituals marking the start of the holy event at 'Triveni Sangamam' the confluence of the Godavari, the Pranahita and the subterranean Saraswati rivers. Justice Surepalli Nanda of the Telangana High Court, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao were among those who took the holy dip at 'Triveni Sangamam' soon after the initiatory rituals. The once in 12 years Saraswati Pushkaralu are being conducted officially by the State government. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to arrive in Kaleshwaram in the evening. He will take 'ritual bath' and 'sankalpam' at Triveni Sangamam, unveil the statue of Goddess Saraswati and watch the 'Saraswati Nava Ratnamala Harathi' ritual at Saraswati Ghat late on Thursday evening, before leaving for Hyderabad.

Festive spirit grips Kaleshwaram on the eve of Saraswati Pushkaralu
Festive spirit pervaded Kaleshwaram, the abode of Sri Kaleshwara Sri Mukteshwara Swamy temple, in Telangana's Jayashankar Bhupalpally district as the temple town has been spruced up for the 12-day Saraswati Pushkaralu-2025 scheduled to begin on Thursday (May 15, 2025). The once-in-12 years mega religious fete is dedicated to worshipping the subterranean Saraswati river which converges with the Godavari and the Pranahita at the confluence point called 'Triveni Sangamam' in Kaleshwaram, a town bordering Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district. The entire temple town has been decked up befitting the occasion with a tent city coming up along the sprawling bathing ghats in the historic pilgrimage centre. The 12-day event will witness 'Nadi Harathi' by pandits of the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh and a host of devotional programmes, the temple sources said. A road has been laid between the VIP bathing ghat and the Godavari ghat. Showers have been installed at the bathing ghats on the banks of the Godavari. Around 50 special officers have been appointed to oversee the sanitation measures during the 12-day event. Dozens of ace swimmers and traditional boats have been deployed along the river course in the temple town to ensure safety of the pilgrims. Around 3,500 police personnel have been drafted for bandobust duty and as many as 200 CCTV cameras have been installed in the temple town. Arrangements have been put in place for drone-aided surveillance on the temple town as a safety precaution. NDRF, SDRF and Singareni rescue teams have been stationed in the temple town. The 12-day event will be inaugurated by IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Thursday morning. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to unveil the statue of Goddess Saraswati, and take holy bath in the river and offer prayers at the historic temple in Kaleshwaram at 5 p.m. on Thursday. The district police officials have made tight security arrangements in coordination with their counterparts in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra to ensure hassle free vehicular movement on all roads, including the Sironcha inter-State bridge, leading to Kaleshwaram.
