Girls shine again: Of 5 toppers in ISC Class XII exams in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula, 3 are girls
1 2 3 4 5 6 Chandigarh: Driven by discipline, resilience, and ambition, the five ISC Class XII toppers of tricity — Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula — have high aims. From entering the coveted Sri Ram College of Commerce in New Delhi to launching their own startups and from studying law to medicine, each one of them wants to forge a path shaped by focus, passion, and purposeful dedication. Strawberry Fields High School student Aarit Sharma (18), a resident of Panchkula's Sector 12, topped the commerce stream with 99.5% . "There was no secret formula. I just stuck to a steady rhythm — no cramming, no burnout," said Aarit, who now plans to pursue BCom (hons) at SRCC. A cricket lover, Aarit attributes his success to consistency and discipline. His father, Amit Sharma, runs a liquor business, and his mother, Shefali, is a homemaker. Tarika Bahl (18), also from Strawberry Fields, scored 99% in humanities. "Not clearing CLAT last year shook me, but it taught me that failure isn't final. You must learn from it and keep pushing forward," said Tarika, who is now focused on law. Daughter of Punjab and Haryana high court judge Vikas Bahl and homemaker Monica Bahl, Tarika is a movie buff, avid reader, and cricket enthusiast. In the non-medical stream, Advay Bajaj (18), also from Strawberry Fields High School, scored 99% and emerged as the tricity's top performer. A resident of Sector 7, Panchkula, Advay has his sights set on building his own startup in future — a goal that has shaped much of his academic focus. With a background of 98.8% in Class X, he approached his final year with clarity and consistency, supported by his father Arvind Bajaj, a consultant, and his mother Mansi Bajaj, a marketing head.
